What is the best supplement for maintaining healthy blood pressure? While there are many prescription-based products on the market, many people are turning to over-the-counter, natural remedies for lowering blood pressure or maintaining numbers that are already in the healthy range.

For some, the decision is financial: their insurance may not cover expensive medications, or they may have other reasons for having to cover the costs out of pocket. For others, the reason may be due to health factors: traditional blood pressure medications make them sick, or they interact with other conditions and prescriptions to create more problems.

Cost:

$44 - 1-month supply

Autoship price: $28

Triple Action Blood Pressure is designed for people who already have blood pressure readings within the normal range and want to maintain their good vascular health. This unique approach includes two different vegetarian formulas: one taken in the morning and another taken at night.

You should be aware of the ingredients in each of the formulas, to be sure that you're not already taking other supplements with the same components:

  • AM formula: calcium, steviosides (from stevia extract), quercetin, myricitrin
  • PM formula: calcium, steviosides (from stevia extract), quercetin, myricitrin, and 2 mg of controlled-release melatonin to promote sleep

Pricing on Triple Action Blood Pressure is higher than many of the products we reviewed, with a regular retail price of $44 for a one-month supply. However, there are ways to save money. First, at the time of our review, there was a special sale in effect that brought the product's price down to just $22 for a 30-day supply. Also, you can opt for their VIP Autoship program, which gives you the supplement for $28 and comes with free shipping. Otherwise, expect to pay $5.50 for shipping.

Life Extension, the company that sells Triple Action Blood Pressure, also offers a rewards program and a membership plan. LE "Dollars" are points earned on every purchase, and you're automatically enrolled in this complimentary program when you make your first purchase. If you plan on making many purchases from Life Extension, you may want to consider their Premier program. Enrollment costs $49.95, which is offset by the $50 LE Dollar bonus you'll receive, and includes free shipping for a year and higher rewards on every purchase. You'll find more details on both of these programs under the Rewards tab at the top of the site.

Another great reason to shop at Life Extension is their excellent 12-month return policy. You can return any of their products for any reason, and you'll get a replacement or a refund. We love that they make it risk-free to try Triple Action Blood Pressure or any of their other supplements.

At the time of our review, there were only a little over a dozen customer ratings on the Triple Action Blood Pressure product, but 12 of them gave the supplement 4 or 5 stars.

Life Extension is a reputable company, and their Triple Action Blood Pressure product is a good choice for people trying to maintain vascular health - but not ideal for individuals hoping to lower their already-high blood pressure.

Cost:

$39.95 - 1-month supply

$99.90 - 3-month supply ($33.30 each)

$149.95 - 5-month supply ($29.90 each), free shipping

Hypercet contains a mixture of 5 ingredients and is priced affordably. However, when taking a closer look, we found several issues with this blood pressure product.

Hypercet uses a blend of five essential elements to target high blood pressure:

  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Malic Acid
  • Citric Acid
  • Glycine

Purchase options for Hypercet include a 1-month supply for $39.95, a 3-month supply for $99.90, and a 5-month supply for $149.95. Shipping is free when you buy the 5-month package; expect a standard shipping fee of $6.95 for the 1- and 3-month packages.

There's very little information on the Hypercet website to tell you how to expect the product to be used. Looking at the ingredients list, it sounds like it's a powder that's administered once-daily, but there's nothing to say if that teaspoon of product is mixed with water, dissolved under the tongue, or some other way.

We also would like to see more scientifically-proven information about the ingredients of Hypercet. For example, calcium is one of its main components, but there are a number of studies that show that increased calcium can actually lead to higher blood pressure. The Hypercet site doesn't explain how the five ingredients work to lower blood pressure. And, the supplement is advertised as an "herbal" remedy, but there are no herbs in the ingredients, just minerals.

Hypercet's money-back guarantee sounds great - until you read the fine print. "You may return any unused and unopened item…" In other words, if you try Hypercet and it doesn't work for you, or if you have a bad reaction to it, you're out of luck. You can only make a claim on the 90-day refund policy if you haven't used the product. This puts Hypercet way below the competition for customer service, especially when their site proudly proclaims that it's "100% guaranteed to meet your expectations or your money back".

Given that we weren't able to find more than a handful of independent reviews and testimonials about how Hypercet actually works, the lackluster satisfaction guarantee, and the overall negative impression we got while reviewing the supplement's information, Hypercet is our lowest-ranked product for high blood pressure.

Continued from above

With more than 100 million Americans with high blood pressure, according to research done by the American Heart Association, it's no surprise that these alternative products are gaining in popularity. While each supplement varies in approach, the majority combine herbal ingredients that have been used for many years for a variety of health conditions with common minerals like calcium and magnesium.

Addressing high blood pressure is extremely important. Why? The CDC states that more than 400,000 people in the US die every year from high blood pressure as a primary or contributing cause. Unfortunately, only half of the 75 million Americans with high blood pressure actually have the condition under control.

So, maybe you've changed your diet, you're eating less sodium, you're exercising more and you've quit smoking - but your blood pressure is still high. What should you look for in a good blood pressure product? Here are some things to keep in mind as you compare the different supplements on the market:

  • Cost. What will you spend each month for the blood pressure product? Are there any savings if you buy more than a month's supply in your order? How does the cost compare with other products?
  • Ingredients. What does the supplement use to tackle high blood pressure? Are there any herbal ingredients you may be allergic to, or any minerals that you're already getting in other supplements? Are the ingredients proven to work to reduce blood pressure?
  • Return Policy. If the blood pressure product doesn't lower your numbers, can you get your money back?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best blood pressure products available today. We hope this information helps you select the right blood pressure product that will lead to a healthy you!
