Office Depot

OFFICE DEPOT Visit Site

Office Depot (and partner brand Office Max) are no strangers when it comes to business needs. From supplies to print-and-ship services, customers trust them to deliver quality products on-time.

Their Copy-and-Print department is easy to use for printing your business cards. To get started, you'll need to have an idea of what kind of business card you want. On the main page, you'll choose from the following:

  • Same-Day: if you're in a hurry, Office Depot carries several designs that can be picked up at an in-store location near you if you order online before 2PM
  • Premium Full-Color
  • Luxury Heavyweight
  • Mini Business Cards
  • Appointment Cards
  • Coupon and Loyalty Cards
  • Raised Print
  • Value
  • Magnets

Once you've chosen the type of card you need, you can use the options on the left-hand side of the results page to narrow down the options further. You can select the industry you serve, such as Animals and Pet Care or Accounting, or styles ranging from Classically Elegant to Patriotism. Don't overlook the "Show All" button to see everything available, especially if you don't see your preferred style or industry in the short list.

As with most business card printers, the more you buy the more you save. In the Value category, for instance, a box of 100 cost $9.99, while a box of 300 was priced at $19.99. Be sure to check out the banner at the top of the page, to see what Print & Copy specials might be available. At the time of our review, Office Depot was running a promotion of 500 Premium Full-Color business cards starting at $9.99.

Office Depot also offers you extra savings through its rewards programs. This complimentary program gets you 2% back in certificates that can be spent in-store or online. And, if you spend $500 or more within a year, you'll be automatically upgraded to the VIP Rewards program, which increases your rewards level on Print/Copy/Ship services to 5% and gets you free delivery with no minimum purchase requirement.

Shipping is free on orders of $9.99 and up, so you'll probably not have to pay shipping costs on any business card order if you choose standard delivery speed. The only drawback? Standard delivery speed was the only option we were given for every card style we selected, from Value to Luxury. In other words, unless you choose one of the same-day styles and have an Office Depot near you, you should expect a turnaround time from order to delivery of at least a week and a half.

On the other hand, Office Depot does offer a "Done Right, On Time, Guaranteed" policy. Of course, because business cards are a custom product, returns and refunds only apply if the error or default was Office Depot's fault - but it's good to know that you have that promise if something does go wrong on their end.

With one of the best selections of business cards on the market, low pricing, and same-day options for those who live near a retail location, Office Depot should be on your list of candidates for your printing needs.

123 Print

123 PRINT Visit Site

For more than a decade, 123Print has been keeping customers happy. With a straightforward, visually appealing website and one of the largest selections of business cards in the industry, this company should be on your list of printers to consider.

Starting on the landing page for 123Print's business card options, you'll find it easy to choose what you need. If you already know the size you want - Standard, Mini, or Square - you can click there to start. Scrolling down the page puts other options at your fingertips:

  • Popular Card Types: Loyalty Cards, Appointment Cards, Photo Cards, and Magnets, for example
  • New Designs
  • Best Sellers
  • Shop by Profession: Salon, Cleaning, Construction, Dental, Legal, and Real Estate, to name a few

Want to see everything 123Print has available? Click on the blue "Browse All" link at the top of the page. From there, you can still use the choices on the left side of the page to narrow down the results, or you can sort all of the 796 styles by bestsellers, price, new designs and more.

If you're really not sure what you're looking for, or if you just want to get a hands-on experience with various paper thicknesses and card styles, you can request a free sample kit.

Pricing at 123Print is competitive. Most cards start at prices between $.04 and $.06 per card, with custom magnets and square cards selling for a more premium price of $0.20 and $0.12. Your total price always depends on the quantity, of course, with the lowest prices offered on larger-quantity orders.

How long will it take to get your business cards? Of course, that depends on the shipping speed you choose. Most of 123Print's business cards are printed within 24 hours from the time you place your order, so you're likely to get your order from anywhere between 2 and 10 business days.

123Print has a satisfaction guarantee: return your order for any reason within 30 days. However, you will only be given a store credit, not a refund - so if you're unhappy with your business cards, your only option will be to place another order.

Customer satisfaction with 123Print is high. Across several hundred reviews, most people are pleased with the quality of their order and the shipping time. We did see quite a few reviews that mentioned that reprints were necessary, but those same reviews typically praised 123Print's customer service representatives for handling it quickly and well. The company also maintains an "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau, further evidence that they do an excellent job in keeping their customers happy.

There’s no need for them to try and remember your name and then Google you - instead, they can just pull out your card and get in touch. In other words, this “paper handshake” gives both of you a way to know instantly everything you need in order to work together.

Another big advantage to handing out a business card is making yourself familiar to your prospective customers, especially by including a photo. If you’re planning on attending large networking events, having your photo will make it more likely that you stand out and are remembered among the other business cards handed out.

Finally, business cards can be used for a variety of reasons that go beyond traditional networking. Loyalty/reward cards, gift tags, and “mommy meet-and-greet” styles are just a few of the novel ways that people are using business cards.

Best of all, there’s no need to drive all over town to find a printer for your business cards. You’ll find an amazing selection of styles all at the click of a mouse: most people buy their business cards online, taking advantage of the convenience of shopping from home, being able to upload graphics and photos, all at prices that easily rival anything that can be found at a local brick-and-mortar print shop.

When you begin the process of choosing a service for printing your business cards, you should keep several key factors in mind. These include the following:

  • Quality. Are the business cards printed on good cardstock, or are they flimsy? Does the service have a good reputation as evidenced by positive customer reviews?
  • Variety. Part of your goal in having the best business card is to stand out. Does the store carry a nice range of options, so that your card will be memorable? Options may include horizontal and vertical layouts, graphics and/or photo capabilities, and QR codes.
  • Cost. Ordering your business cards online is affordable, but some services are more expensive than others. Are there any discounts or other offers that can make your purchase even more economical?
