All Posters comes across as a jack-of-all trades when it comes to images: posters, t-shirts, novelty items, and art prints are just a few of the things that this company offers for sale. In the past, we were less-than-impressed with what they had to offer with respect to canvas prints. Has anything changed? Yes - and no.
Although All Posters may have regular pricing that is more expensive than the competition, we saw a "50% off everything" discount on the day we went to place an order. This could mean a significant savings over other sites, if you're able to get a similar offer at the time you're shopping.
We also were pleased to see that All Posters has added a 100% satisfaction guarantee since the last time we visited. If you're unsatisfied for any reason, you can receive a replacement or full refund within 30 days of receipt.
Both of those things are positive changes we spotted on the All Posters site. On the other hand, we still found that we couldn't see any pricing or other information on canvas prints until we actually uploaded a photo. That process did go more quickly than before, but we would have liked the chance to see a basic price list.
We found a total of 9 canvas sizes, 7 rectangular and 2 square. That is also an improvement over All Posters' previous selection. You can choose between museum and gallery canvas wrap: museum has black, hand-painted sides and is more formal, while gallery wraps the image around the sides and is best suited for more informal displays.
But, if you're looking for any kind of customization, you won't find it here. We found exactly none within the canvas prints category: no options to add text, no image touch-ups, zero.
And, the free shipping that All Posters used to offer? Not anymore. You can get standard shipping with delivery in 4-8 calendar days for $7.99, 2-day shipping for $19.99, or overnight shipping for $24.99. That's definitely not an improvement.
We also discovered that All Posters is part of the Art family of brands - which would explain why the two sites are so similar when it comes to ordering canvas prints. On a positive note, Art maintained an "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau at the time of our review, which encompasses the All Posters brand as well.
Overall, All Posters has come a long way from our previous review, by adding an excellent satisfaction guarantee, increased canvas sizes, and a solid reputation with the BBB. But, when it comes to options for modifying images, they still come up short. But, if you're looking for a basic canvas print of a photo that is already high quality and there happens to be a good promotional discount available, All Posters could still be worth looking at.
Art sells exactly what you would expect: wall decor, prints, and other decorations to beautify your home or office. Although their canvas prints are not the main focus of their site, they do form a logical part of what this business has to offer.
The Art brand also owns the All Posters company. Although you'll find the same interface for uploading photos (called Photos To Art on this site and My Photo on All Posters'), same shipping fees starting at $7.99, same delivery speeds - and the same overall lack of options for customization - we did find a few differences.
First, our photos took much longer to upload on the Art site. The first time, we got stuck on the "loading" page and had to refresh the browser. But, we also found one extra canvas size with Art than what was offered on the All Posters' site, which could be important if you have a very specific set of dimensions you're looking to get with your canvas print.
Also, the base prices on Art were considerably higher: an $8 difference on a basic 8x10 canvas print. But, interestingly, the final price was the same when we looked - because All Posters was offering a 50% discount, while Art was offering an 80% discount! This confirmed that, for all intents and purposes, your order at Art is no different from ordering through All Posters, unless you happen to need that one extra canvas size (Art) or you really need a fast upload for your photos (All Posters).
That does give Art two of the same positives: an A+ with the Better Business Bureau, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee where you can return your canvas print for any reason within 30 days of delivery. Art will either replace your purchase or give you a refund.
But, compared with other companies offering canvas prints - and even with its own sister brand - Art just doesn't keep up.
Best Canvas Prints
To help you find the Best Canvas Prints, TopConsumerReviews.com provides you with an in-depth comparison of All Posters and Art.
Who has the best Canvas Prints? Gone are the days where the best way to display a treasured photograph was in a traditional frame. Most home decoration TV shows, magazines, and websites feature canvas prints as the most modern-yet-elegant format for showing off your children, favorite scenic shots from a vacation, or even spotlighting your four-legged family members.
Using a canvas print takes your images from a flat, two-dimensional aspect and pops them out as a 3-D work of art. Whether you're buying a canvas print for yourself or as a gift to commemorate a special occasion, ordering it online can save you time and money while still resulting in the pixel-perfect quality you'd expect if you entrusted the project to a local photographer and print shop.
When working with an online supplier of canvas prints, you'll find that the best websites will walk you through everything you need to know - from how to select an ideal image, the best canvas size for your selected photograph, which framing to use, and which touch-up services like fixing color balance or adding text elements might give it a special touch.
How can you tell which canvas print company you should use for your next project? Services vary widely, so as you decide which one would meet your needs, keep these factors in mind:

Types of Pictures That Make Good Canvas Prints
We've all had a "Kodak" moment. Maybe it was the first time you saw a baby fawn taking its first steps in a field. Maybe it was that fantastic waterfall you encountered at the end of a hike in the wilderness. Or maybe it was just your grandma, sitting on her rocking chair on the front porch of her hundred-year-old home. Whatever the moment, we've all had one where we just knew it would make a memorable photo.
Photos that can only be classified as "Kodak" moments definitely are the kinds that make excellent canvas art.
But what, exactly, is canvas art?
Canvas art is created through a specialized printer which requires special eight to 12 color inkjet printers containing UV-resistant ink. You want to use UV-resistant ink because if the canvas will be hung on a wall, it most likely will at some point be exposed to sunlight, which can cause it to fade. UV-resistant ink helps to slow the fading process. The printer is designed to accommodate canvas, which is heavier than most of the kinds of paper we use in our home and office printers.
A high-resolution photo or digital image is then taken, scanned into a computer, and printed onto the canvas with the special printer.
Once you understand the process, it is much easier to choose photos or digital images which would lend themselves to the creation of a good canvas piece.
The first step in choosing a picture that would make a good canvas print is to make sure the image being used is of a high resolution. Most new cameras are capable of 8 to 12 megapixel images, with more expensive digital SLR cameras able to produce even higher resolutions. The general rule of thumb is if the image isn't at least 350 dpi (dots per inch), it will not reproduce well onto canvas. If you are unsure whether your photo or digital image is of good enough quality for printing onto canvas, consider consulting a professional photographer or canvas art business before placing an order. They should be able to review the image or print photo and tell you if it will reproduce well.
If the quality of the photo is acceptable, you also may want to ask the printing company if they are able to edit or "brush up" the photo for you. Issues like red eye, smears and even dust on the lens of the camera can transfer to your canvas art. These are all things that with the right photo-editing equipment - such as Photoshop - can be altered to create a better-looking image.
Among some of the images which have found their way onto canvas include:
The list of what can be transferred to canvas is endless and truly depends on the taste of the individual who is ordering the piece.
