OVERSTOCK

Would it surprise you to learn that the best place to buy a charm bracelet isn't a jewelry store? Overstock offers the best selection of bracelets and charms, even when compared with traditional jewelers, all with the convenience of shopping from home and the bonus of getting the lowest prices on the market.

Whether you're looking for a bracelet with a preselected set of charms or a base for adding the charms you select individually, Overstock has you more than covered with more than 1000 to choose from. Their options run the gamut from inexpensive costume jewelry to long-lasting sterling silver and gold bracelet styles.

For example, we found a Pandora-style charm bracelet loaded with bead and dangle charms; this "Lavender Lush" style sells for only $12.99 and is a fun way to have the look of an expensive bracelet while paying costume jewelry prices. On the upper end of the price range, we spotted an 18K white gold and diamond sports charm bracelet for just under $6,000. From impressive styles to commemorate a special occasion to cute designs that are well-suited for children and teens, Overstock's got it.

When it comes to charms, Overstock's selection blows the rest of the competition out of the water with more than 4500 in their inventory. Although they don't carry any official Pandora-brand charms, they have numerous slide-on styles that are compatible with Pandora bracelets. You can also find charms for the older, more traditional style of charm bracelets that attach using jump rings, lobster claws, or spring rings. Don't be afraid to buy an off-brand charm for your bracelet through Overstock; most of the charms have ample reviews from satisfied customers, so you'll know that the .925 sterling silver is authentic and won't wear off over time.

Because there are so many options for charms and bracelets, we recommend that you use the filters on the left side of the page to narrow down the possibilities. You can focus on the color or finish, the target age group, available discounts, or themes like Animals, Holiday, or Professions.

Overstock is well known for having frequent discount offers and sales. At the time of our most recent review, we found a "Spin to Win" pop-up; "prizes" included free shipping, 5% off, and 15% off. Scroll down to the bottom of the main page and you might also spot a discount for signing up for the Overstock newsletter; during our last visit, it was a 12% off coupon.

Another way to save money at Overstock is through their Club O Rewards program. You can get a free 30-day trial; afterwards, you'll pay $19.95/year to access benefits like free shipping on every purchase, free returns, 5% rewards points on most purchases, and additional rewards for writing product reviews.

Should you need to return your bracelet or charm, you can request a refund within 30 days of delivery if it's in new, unused condition.

Overstock has an incredible selection of beautiful bracelets and charms for every style and budget, and customer-friendly benefits that just might make you a loyal customer for life when shopping for other products they offer as well. Overstock is our first choice for charm bracelets.

KAY

When you hear the name Kay Jewelers, do you immediately think of the catchy tagline, "Every Kiss Begins With Kay"? It's okay to admit it - because Kay is one of the biggest specialty jewelry retailers in the United States. Owned by parent company Signet Jewelers, Kay is part of a brand family with annual sales of nearly $6 billion through more than 3,600 retail stores and a well-designed online store too.

Kay has a good selection of 35 bracelets that are specifically compatible with charms, both the kinds that slide on and those that attach with a clasp or ring. We did notice that most of the bracelets are limited to 7- and 7.5-inch lengths, which may not accommodate wearers with smaller or larger wrists. Most of the bracelets list the length in the main product description; otherwise, click on the bracelet and you'll find the length in the product description dropdown.

In addition to the main Charm Bracelet page, Kay has a huge selection of individual charms in their Charm Store. You can browse through their 1000+ options all at once, but you'll probably have a better experience if you narrow it down by Beads or Traditional Charms, or by brands such as Charmed Memories or Rembrandt Charms.

We were really impressed by some of the engravable charms; Charmed Memories offers a Family Tree bead starting at just under $55 that allows you to have a last name or other word (like "faith" or "unity") engraved directly into the silver. We also found many charms on sale at savings of up to 70% or more, including popular themes like Star Wars and Disney's Frozen. Charmed Memories is compatible with Pandora, if you already happen to have a Pandora bracelet or vice-versa.

When you sign up for Kay's email newsletter, you may get a promotional discount of 20% off your first purchase. Look for a pop-up when visiting the site.

Kay has one of the best return policies in the industry. You can return your bracelet or charm within 60 days if you want a refund, or within 90 days if you'd prefer an exchange. Returns can be made via mail or at any Kay Jewelers retail location. The only restriction is that you can't return anything personalized/engraved. Note that it doesn't say that you can only get a refund on charms/bracelets in new condition - so if your bracelet just doesn't fit quite right or the charm falls off the jump ring, there should be no hassles in getting a refund. "If you're not happy, we're not happy and we will make it right" is Kay's promise.

Fantastic selection, competitive pricing, and an unparalleled return policy are just a few of the reasons we think you'll love shopping for your charm bracelet at Kay.

REEDS JEWELERS

East Coast-based Reeds Jewelers may not have a retail store near you, but don't let that scare you away from shopping on their online store to find your charm bracelet. The business has an excellent reputation, demonstrated by an "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau and thousands of positive customer reviews.

All of the charm bracelets sold by Reeds come from the Rembrandt and Pandora brands, typically in a bangle style for the Rembrandts and multiple available styles (mesh, leather, silver snake, etc.) with the Pandora bracelets. Most of the Pandora charm bracelets come in a range of diameters, making them a good choice if you're shopping for someone with a larger- or smaller-than-average wrist size.

If you're specifically looking for charms, you'll need to look on a different part of the Reeds site. We found it under the Collections section, then under More Jewelry & Accessories. You can also get there by typing "charm" in the search box and then on any of the results you like.

Whether shopping for bracelets or charms, the Reeds site is a little tricky to sort. While you can filter your results by Designer, Color, Metal/Material and more, you have to choose each option one at a time. For example, if you know you want a sterling silver Pandora bead, you'll have to first click on Pandora under brand, then on Bead for charm type, and then finally on Sterling Silver (or any other order of those three criteria). We definitely would prefer to be able to click on checkboxes to limit results to all of our desired features at one time but, having to do it individually isn't a deal-breaker.

Reeds return policy doesn't quite compete with most of the retailers of charm bracelets we reviewed: you only have 10 days from delivery to return for a refund, and 30 days if you are only asking for an exchange. Items do need to be in like-new condition, with no signs of damage or wear.

On the other hand, Reeds does offer free gift wrapping on every order, free shipping on orders over $100, and free engraving when applicable.

And, Reeds has a stellar track record for attentive, responsive, pleasant customer service. From customer reviews to our own experience with live chat, we found Reeds to be genuinely committed to their shoppers' satisfaction. Whether helping with a Pandora warranty issue or tracking down a shipment that went off-track, Reeds representatives show an unwavering dedication to earning and keeping their customers' loyalty.

For that reason alone, Reeds is a trustworthy retailer if you're looking for a high-quality charm bracelet. Although it might take a little extra work to narrow down what they have to offer, we're sure once you find your perfect bracelet and charms, you'll be happy with your purchase experience at Reeds.

PANDORA

Pandora deserves credit for bringing charm bracelets back into popularity. Although traditional charm bracelets, usually with dangling charms attached by jump rings, are still around, most women wear the style that Pandora is known for: the solid silver or gold style with beads that slide over the bracelet itself. Their selection has expanded to include braided leather styles in a range of colors and solid metal bangles that also accommodate Pandora charms.

As you shop for bracelets, Pandora makes it foolproof to get the right size: most bracelets have a range of sizes, and right above the available sizes you'll find a link to their helpful size guide. We also love that if you see something you like, you can click on the "send a hint" link to let someone know that it's on your wish list.

Many of the bracelets have numerous customer reviews for you to consider. Pandora's two most popular charm bracelets are the Iconic Silver Charm (169 reviews) and the Silver Charm with Heart Clasp (226 reviews), both of which sell for $65. You can read those reviews towards the bottom of each bracelet's page; next to the reviews tab, click on the Ask a Question tab if you need more detailed information or want to see what other customers asked.

Pandora charms are the original that others copy. With almost 600 choices, you'll find everything from whimsical to wow. On our most recent visit, we saw cute options like Bruno the Unicorn and Figaro the Disney cat; on the elegant end of the spectrum, we also spotted the Heraldic Radiance charm featuring rose gold plus pink and purple crystals and the Opulent Flower made of 14k gold and cubic zirconia.

Because Pandora tends to set their prices universally, you'll usually find the same price whether you shop directly from the Pandora store or on a competitor site. Of course, Pandora wants you to buy directly from them - so they offer free 3-day shipping on every order. Plus, shopping on the Pandora site ensures that you're getting genuine merchandise, not a counterfeit. And, you may find a wider selection of Pandora charms on the official site than when you shop through a third-party seller.

But, that also means you won't find any compatible charm brands: you're limited to just what Pandora offers. There are many other brands whose charms fit the traditional Pandora bracelet style, in designs that Pandora doesn't offer. That's worth keeping in mind, especially if you're trying to create a themed bracelet.

If you get your bracelet or charm and it's not what you were expecting, you can return it within 30 days of purchase by mail or to a Pandora retail location. However, it's important to note that if you return an online order to a local store, you will only get a merchandise credit to be used there instead of a refund. For that reason, you might want to take advantage of the free, prepaid shipping label to send it back to Pandora directly.

There's no question that Pandora charm bracelets and charms are well-made and beautiful, setting the standard that most charm bracelets try to imitate. A solid return policy and perks like free shipping make the Pandora online store a great place to shop.

ZALES

Over 90 years, Zales has grown from a Texas-based, family-owned jewelry store to more than 700 retail locations across North America. Zales became part of the Signet Jewelers brand family in 2014, along with Kay, Jared, and several other regional jewelry brands.

On Zales' main charm bracelet page, you'll see just over 50 options to choose from. We noticed that some of these are the same style, just different lengths - bringing the number of unique bracelet styles down somewhat. Most of the bracelets are not identified by brand, though some were in the Amore La Vita brand line that you'll find sold on competitor sites too. All of the bracelets we saw were the chain variety, used for charms that attach with a clasp, ring, or link, and not the kind that slide a rounded chain or cord through the center of the charm.

For that reason, we weren't surprised to see a large selection of clasp-style charms on the Zales site. Also, predominantly in the Amore La Vita line, the selection of more than 400 charms ranges from cute themed objects like cameras and pink enamel cupcakes to sterling silver/14K gold crosses and initials in silver and cubic zirconia. We suggest that you use the filtering options on the left side of the page, to narrow down the options by color, material, style, or any other criteria you need to find what you want.

Prices at Zales tend to be higher than other sites; for example, one of the Amore La Vita charms we liked was 20% more expensive at Zales than at several other stores who also carried the same item.

If you're not a previous subscriber to Zales' email list, you may be eligible for a discount of up to $50 on your purchase if you register now. Watch for a pop-up while shopping the Zales' online store.

You've got several options for shipping with Zales. If you prefer not to pay for shipping, you'll either need to place an order of $149+, or have your charm bracelet shipped to your local Zales store and pick it up in person. Otherwise, expect shipping fees of $6.95 for UPS 2nd Day Air or $7.95 for USPS Priority Mail.

If you need to return your bracelet or charms, you'll have 60 days from your date of purchase to make the return by mail or to one of Zales' retail stores. Jewelry must be in good condition, not necessarily new or unworn.

In general, Zales' selection is somewhat limited, especially for people who are looking for slide/bead styles of charms and their corresponding bracelets. On the other hand, if you're shopping for a more traditional charm bracelet and a good selection of novel charms, Zales' excellent return policy alone is a good reason to consider making your purchase from their online store.

CLAIRE'S

If you've been to a mall in the last 30+ years, you're already familiar with Claire's: with almost 4,000 retail locations worldwide, this fashion jewelry and accessories store is a world leader within the industry.

Claire's main focus is girls and tweens - which you'll quickly see as you browse the site. Your options for charm bracelets can be sorted by age: 3-6 years, 6-12 years, and 12-and-up. You can also sort by color - not by metal, like silver or gold (you won't find those here anyway). And, unlike most stores that sell charm bracelets, Claire's lets you search by "pack size" - so that you can find a set of 2, 3, or even 6 matching bracelets for your daughter and her squad.

Obviously, you're not going to find an heirloom-quality bracelet here; you can't buy individual charms to add to an existing bracelet either. But, if you just want something inexpensive, cute, and themed, Claire's is the place. We found dozens of themes ranging from emojis to butterflies, and many of the bracelets were on sale with a Buy-2-Get-2-Free promotion at the time of our review.

Check out the purple Special Offers tab when you shop the site. In addition to the B2G2 offer, we also found a coupon code for 15% off. Shipping is free on orders over $50, or you can order online and pick up your purchase in-store, if you live near one of Claire's many brick-and-mortar locations. We also spotted a 20% discount off your first order if you sign up for Claire's emails; that's at the bottom of the page too.

Claire's also has a good return policy: 60 days in-store or by mail on all unused items still in their original packaging, or 90 days when returning with a gift receipt. There's no customer satisfaction policy, though, so if your charm bracelet breaks after wearing it once, you'll probably need to accept that you get what you pay for - and in the case of Claire's charm bracelets, you're not paying for a high-end, long-lasting piece of jewelry.

Even though Claire's won't have the kind of selection that most adults are looking for, their collection of inexpensive, cute charm bracelets is a great fit for children and tweens.

HEAVENLY TREASURES

Heavenly Treasures sells a wide variety of charm bracelets and accessories, from the Chamilia brand that is compatible with Pandora, to flat Italian charm bracelet styles you might not find at other stores.

The Heavenly Treasures online store doesn't make it easy to find what you're looking for. Instead of being able to sort through their many options by applying filters and getting a list of results, you'll have to browse individual categories like European Beads or Amore La Vita Charms. Of course, you can always search for specific keywords, if you have an idea of what you want (e.g. silver Disney beads or gold letter charms).

We found a few more issues with the Heavenly Treasures website. The link to the blog was broken, the link to get more information on their advertised Free Shipping just returned us to their main store page, and when we clicked on the prominent "Ask Us a Question" button at the bottom of the site, we found that their live support was offline during standard business hours. Also, many of their pages aren't secure - meaning, you won't find the https in the URL that tells you that the site is protected by encryption.

One area where Heavenly Treasures shines is their return policy. They offer a 90-day money-back guarantee, so if you're not happy with your charm bracelet for any reason, you can request a refund.

Also, this store provides a lifetime warranty on everything they sell. So, if you wear your dangling charm for a year and then it falls off, or if your silver bangle bracelet bends over time, you can get a repair, replacement or store credit from Heavenly Treasures. Despite the clunky experience we had with some of the website's features, we found customer reviews that said they were able to take advantage of this warranty when needed.

While Heavenly Treasures probably won't give you a smooth online shopping experience, it might be worth considering if you would like a lifetime warranty on your charm bracelet and an extended return period compared with other retailers.

Best Charm Bracelets

Where can you get the best charm bracelets? There are many online retailers that offer an incredible selection of bracelets and individual charms, making it easy to find the perfect addition to your jewelry collection - or to honor a special someone with a gift tailored exactly to their interests and experiences.

Although charm bracelets were originally designed to either bring good luck or ward off evil spirits - often with symbols like horseshoes and four-leaf clovers - today's trends use charm bracelets for less superstitious reasons. Many parents start a charm bracelet when their daughter is born, adding a new charm each year to commemorate a treasured memory and then giving her the completed bracelet for her 16th birthday or quincea˝era.

Another popular theme for charm bracelets is travel. Imagine how quickly those memories come back as you see your Eiffel Tower dangle charm, Mickey Mouse glass bead, or passport charm on your wrist every day.

And, of course, charm bracelets are ideal for accessorizing. With thousands of charms available in silver, gold, and the full spectrum of colors, there's no end to the possibilities. Silver and blue with snowflakes for winter? Pumpkins and leaves for autumn? Sun beads, flip-flop dangles, and palm trees for the summer? You can do all that and much more with a charm bracelet.

As you shop for your bracelet and charms, how can you tell which online stores should get your business? Here are several criteria to keep in mind:

  • Variety. How many bracelets and charms does the retailer offer? The more charms they sell, the less likely it is that you'll have to spend your time shopping on more than one website. Can you get a range of brands and styles, or is the selection limited to just one or two?
  • Price. How does the store compare with other retailers? Is shipping included with your purchase? Are there any discounts or rewards programs?
  • Return Policy. If you receive your bracelet and/or charms and aren't satisfied, can you return them for a full refund?
  • Reputation. What do other customers say about their experience with the store? Are they rated and/or accredited by the Better Business Bureau?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Charm Bracelet stores available today. We hope this information helps you put together a charm bracelet that perfectly showcases your unique style!
