For the largest selection of personalized Christmas ornaments on the Internet, there's only one site to visit: Ornament Shop. With nearly 35 years in the business of selling Christmas gifts and decorations, and almost 20 years of offering personalized Christmas ornaments online, creator and owner Dianne Weller has a wealth of experience traveling the country - and the world - to find unique options from crafters and companies alike.
To find the ornaments you want, start by looking at the category choices on the left-hand side of the page or along the top navigation bar. You'll see more than two dozen themes to choose from, starting with Activities (such as Actors, Dance, Games/Gaming, Hobbies, and Music) and going all the way down to Western styles like cowboy boots and horses.
Personalization options are amazing at Ornament Shop. Once you've found an ornament you like, look for the drop-down box under the red word "Quantity". There, you can select the number of that ornament you'd like to purchase and whether or not you want personalization. You can even specify if you want all of those items personalized the same way - for example, "Jones HS Football 2016" or "#1 Real Estate Team" - or if you want a different personalization on each individual ornament.
We also love that each ornament has a section for customer reviews. All of the reviews we saw were very positive, praising the ornaments' designs and quality. Ornament Shop's "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau and a near-perfect 9.5/10 average across hundreds of customer comments are further proof that they're a great place to shop for Christmas ornaments.
Shipping is very reasonable at Ornament Shop. For orders with four ornaments or fewer, expect to pay a flat-rate shipping fee of $6.95. If your order has at least five ornaments, your shipping is free.
The return policy offered by Ornament Shop is very customer-friendly. If you aren't 100% happy with your purchase, they will replace it or refund your money. Of course, as with most stores that sell personalized items, this does not apply if you made a spelling mistake while placing your order. You do need to report any problems with your order within 10 business days from delivery; otherwise, Ornament Shop does reserve the right not to send a replacement.
With an unrivaled product selection, reasonable shipping rates, and fantastic customization options, Ornament Shop is the obvious choice when it comes to buying Christmas ornaments. They earn our highest rating.
If you've ever shopped online for home decor, chances are good that you're already familiar with Wayfair. Their selection of more than 500,000 products runs the gamut from dog houses to bath towels and everything in between, and their Christmas ornament collection is no different. With a staggering 8,000+ ornament styles to choose from, you'll find virtually every imaginable size, shape, color, and price range.
Shopping the Wayfair site to find the ornaments you want may feel a little overwhelming. Start by using the left-hand navigation options to filter the available products by type, price, theme, customer rating, color, and more. Be sure to click on "Personalization" under the heading of Features if you're specifically looking for a customized ornament; although some of the items that turned up in that results list did not have personalization options, for some reason, most of them will tell you in the product description how many characters you can enter in the provided space. Otherwise, the description will clearly indicate that you'll need to do the personalization yourself once you receive your ornament.
There's definitely something for every style and budget in Wayfair's collection of Christmas ornaments. On the budget-friendly end of the spectrum, there are nearly 7,000 options under $25, including sets of 12 or 14 round glass ornaments and glitter snowflakes. On the opposite end of the spectrum, especially in the Queens of Christmas and Value Arts Company product lines, you'll find shatterproof finials for the top of your tree, or intricately-painted cloisonne sleigh bell ornaments.
Wayfair's shipping costs are better than many of their competitors': a flat rate of $4.99 on orders of $49 or less, and free shipping for orders over $49. Also, all non-personalized orders can be returned for a refund within 30 days of delivery; be aware that you will be responsible for the costs of return shipping. The only exception to the 30-day policy is over the winter holidays: you have until January 31st to return orders placed between November 1st and December 31st, making it less stressful for your holiday shopping process. Also, it wasn't clear if this was a limited-time promotion or a regular deal, but we noticed that Wayfair had the following offer: "Place any order now to unlock 30 days of unlimited free shipping on future purchases".
The only negative we found with buying Christmas ornaments at Wayfair is their overall rating as an online retailer. Although we didn't see any reviews that specifically talked about Christmas ornaments, there are more than a few customer comments on various sites that describe issues with shipping, returns, and getting timely, appropriate responses from Wayfair when there are problems with an order or products. However, with over 500,000 products it stands to reason that not every purchase will go as planned, and Wayfair's "A+" rating as an accredited company with the Better Business Bureau means that they're doing a more-than-adequate job of taking care of customer concerns.
We're confident that you can find a great selection of Christmas ornaments for your holiday decor at Wayfair.
Not every Christmas ornament style lends itself to personalization. If you're buying a collectible brand like Hummel or Christopher Radko, or a German lace snowflake, there's no way you'd want to ruin its beauty with a name and date. Christmas Ornaments' creator Dianne Weller felt the same way, and so she created a sister site to her original store, Ornament Shop. Where her original store focuses specifically on the personalized-ornament marketplace, Christmas Ornaments takes the exact opposite approach - bringing you some of the most unique, elegant, and even whimsical ornaments that need nothing extra to stand out as a treasured Christmas keepsake.
Not sure what you're looking for? No problem! Start on the main page of the Christmas Ornaments site, and you'll see several categories right in the middle of the page:
You'll also see a list of themes on the left side of the page, starting with Accessories and Activities at the top, all the way to Well-Known Brands at the bottom. Alternately, if you hover over the "All Ornaments" arrow in the red navigation section next to the word "Shop", you'll get a drop-down with a comprehensive list of categories you can choose from.
We were very impressed with the different kinds of ornaments available at Christmas Ornaments. Looking for something to commemorate your travels this year - maybe a hand-painted bean-shaped ornament featuring the Chicago skyline, or the Dome of the Rock? How about an alien in a spaceship? Or a tin train made in Denmark? You'll find all of those and many, many more when you shop at Christmas Ornaments. We like the feature of customer reviews included with many of the products we looked at, letting us know what others thought of particular ornaments once they got them home and on the tree.
Shipping is very reasonable: for orders with four ornaments or fewer, expect to pay a flat-rate shipping fee of $6.95. If your order has at least five ornaments, your shipping is free.
The return policy offered by Ornament Shop is very customer-friendly. If you aren't 100% happy with your purchase, they will refund your money with no questions asked. Be aware that you are responsible for the costs of return shipping.
As the sister site of Ornament Shop, all of Christmas Ornaments' links to reviews direct website visitors to the original store - where they'll find a near-perfect score for customer satisfaction, on-time shipping, and product quality.
We love what Christmas Ornaments has to offer, and we're confident you will too. We give this store high marks.
Personalization Mall, as the name suggests, specializes in gifts that are tailored to the recipient, honoree, or whatever you'd like to commemorate. From stationery to wall art and more, you can personalize everything offered by this Better Business Bureau-accredited company based out of the Chicagoland area.
We love how easy it is to find just the right ornament using the Personalization Mall website. On their main Ornaments page, you can shop by the following categories:
Alternately, you can shop by shape, or see what is popular among other shoppers. We were impressed with the variety of ornament styles offered by Personalization Mall, from engraved glass to wood, clay, and more.
When we visited the Personalization Mall site, we got a pop-up for $5 off $25 for signing up for their email list. You may want that discount to balance out the spendy shipping fees: "economy" shipping starts at $5.49 for orders under $9, which is more than half the cost of the order itself, and "standard" shipping fees begin at $7.49 for orders under $9. On the other hand, there is no extra charge for personalization for any ornament they offer, which can save you a bit of money compared with their competitors.
Just like most companies featuring personalized items, the only returns accepted by Personalization Mall are for items damaged in shipment or that arrive with some other manufacturing defect. These returns need to be made within 30 days of receiving the order.
Customer satisfaction is very high with this retailer of Christmas ornaments. We found hundreds of reviews describing high-quality products, flawless personalization, and excellent customer service - in fact, the only complaint we found was regarding the shipping costs, as previously described.
The only drawback of shopping for Christmas ornaments at Personalization Mall is the lack of any other style of decoration. If you're looking for traditional round glass ornaments in plain metallic designs, for example, you'll definitely need to make a stop at another online retailer.
If you're looking for a unique, perfectly-customized ornament for your Christmas tree this year, be sure to check out what Personalization Mall has to offer.
Pier 1 Imports is a household name when it comes to unique products for the home from around the world. With hundreds of retail locations throughout the US and Canada and a website for convenient shopping, it's easy to browse their collection of just over 250 Christmas ornaments.
If you're looking for personalization options, you're not going to find what you're looking for at Pier 1. We didn't see any ornaments that had a space for writing in a name or date on your own, and there were none that offered any kind of personalization prior to shipment. On the other hand, Pier 1 offers many ornaments at very affordable prices: simple jingle bells in gold, silver, or red for a dollar, red glitter ball ornaments for under $3, and several other options for decorating your tree on a budget. Other types of Christmas ornaments sold by Pier 1 include cloisonne patterns, European glass, and the exclusive Li Bien series that involves designs painted on the inside of the ornament by artists using an L-shaped brush.
To make your shopping even more affordable, Pier 1 does have special offers from time to time. On the day we reviewed the Pier 1 site, there was a pop-up offering a 10% discount for subscribing to their email list.
On the other hand, shipping can be spendy at Pier 1. While we spotted a "free shipping on orders of $49+" promo at the top of the page, regular shipping fees start at $5 for orders under $15 and go up from there.
Customers do like Pier 1's return options: you can return any purchase to a Pier 1 store within 45 days of purchase, or you can request a shipping label from their Customer Relations team. This is one of the most generous return policies in our review, mostly because none of the Christmas ornaments at Pier 1 are customized and thus non-refundable.
Overall, Pier 1 offers a small-but-sweet collection of Christmas ornaments, and returns are free and easy if for some reason your purchase is less than satisfactory.
From Christmas decorations to home decor and outdoor living products, Christmas Central wants to be your one-stop shop for your decorating needs. With almost 40 years of experience as a retailer, this family owned-and-operated division of Gordon Companies Inc. has been featured in HGTV Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens, and more.
The main page for Christmas ornaments at Christmas Central is very basic: see all available ornaments, sorted by name or price, or choose one of the more than 40 themes listed on the left-hand side of the page. These themes include TV and Movies, Occupations, Icicles, and Old World Christmas, along with featured brands like Mark Roberts and Neqwa. Beneath the list of themes, you can also find options for filtering the results by color, collection, size, material, and features, among others. It also says that ornaments can be sorted according to highest customer reviews, but we didn't find any evidence of such reviews in the descriptions of the ornaments themselves. We would have liked to see customer comments on the products, to get an idea of the quality and durability of the ornaments for sale.
While Christmas Central does carry ornaments that can be personalized, such as Baby's 1st Christmas or "Welcome Home, Soldier" styles, they do not offer the personalization service itself. You'll need your own marker and a steady hand to enter the information yourself.
Christmas Central allows customers to return products within 30 days of receipt - or before December 25th, whichever comes first. That could get tricky when things get crazy around the holidays, so it's important to keep an eye on the calendar if there's any possibility that you might want to return your purchase. Also, free shipping on the return is only offered for customers who are requesting a store credit rather than a refund; if you prefer to get your money back, be prepared to pay the return shipping costs.
While we were pleased to see that Christmas Central had an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau at the time of our review, we found many reviews - even on the BBB site - indicating significant concerns with customer service. Common complaints include poor quality or defective products and difficulties in getting a refund in those cases, slow shipping or inaccurate information regarding product delivery, and lackluster responses from customer service representatives for customers looking to get help. Especially given that orders received in December have to be returned before Christmas in order to get a refund or store credit, those slow responses can be a big problem for holiday shoppers.
In general, Christmas Central has a large variety of ornaments at affordable prices, but customers may experience some issues with product quality and customer service.
For shoppers with German or Austrian ancestry who want to reconnect with their roots, The Christmas Sleigh has a lot to offer. Their ornament collection includes tiny diorama-like creations made inside a walnut shell, Austrian painted Christmas eggs, military ornaments and many other ornaments made in Europe.
The website itself is somewhat challenging to navigate. Unless you already have a specific idea of what you're looking for, you might have a hard time finding a Christmas ornament to match your wish list. For example, there is no way to sort through themes, colors, or even price ranges, and looking through what's available can be time-consuming. We saw everything from cardinals to Santa Claus and religious themes, but no way to choose just religious items or nature-themed ornaments. Also, many items were out of stock.
We also had a hard time determining details like shipping costs and return policies. We did see that most items we added to the cart came with a shipping fee of $7, but we didn't find anywhere on the site that gave a more specific list. We did find The Christmas Sleigh's return policy under the Customer Service heading, but we were confused by the wording: 10 days from when the customer receives the item or 14 days from when it was shipped. Also, refunds are issued strictly via check or PayPal, which seems both inconvenient and less professional than other retailers.
On a positive note, The Christmas Sleigh did maintain an "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau at the time of our review. This leads us to believe that they are a reputable retailer of Christmas ornaments and other products, despite having a website without all of the bells and whistles you'd find with a more prominent store.
When decorating for the holidays, a beautiful Christmas tree is a must. And what does every Christmas tree need to be complete? Ornaments, of course! Whether your style is classic with white or multi-colored lights and metallic round ornaments, or you go all-in to support your favorite sports team, you'll need the right Christmas ornaments to match your theme.
One popular trend in Christmas ornaments is personalization: instead of a plain store-bought design, many shoppers prefer to have an ornament that reflects something about themselves or their loved ones. For example, some families have the tradition of giving each child in the family a new ornament every Christmas - perhaps a soccer ball in the year their team won the championship, or a graduation cap to commemorate finishing high school.
Being able to customize these ornaments with a name, date, or other details creates a keepsake to treasure well into the future. Unfortunately, shopping at big-box retailers and even mall kiosks can be a hassle. Fighting the holiday crowds in multiple stores while trying to find the perfect Christmas ornaments for your tree can leave you feeling more like a Scrooge than a Santa.
For this reason, today's shoppers frequently turn to online retailers to buy their Christmas ornaments, getting the very best selection and personalization options without ever having to leave home. What should you look for when deciding where to buy your Christmas ornaments? Consider these five criteria:
