Cost:

Starting at $12.50 per month

Over 20 years ago, Coffee Wholesale USA got the idea that the internet would be a great way to bring low prices to happy customers every day. This Texas-based store focuses on business customers - from hotels to coffee carts and more - but they make their products and pricing available to the everyday consumer as well. This company definitely gives you that small business attention and feel: “We are old-fashioned, and we answer the phones - if you have time to call us, we have time to talk with you”.

Limited Coffee Club Options

Coffee Wholesale USA has somewhat limited options when it comes to club subscriptions.

  • Standard Coffee Club, 3 or 12 months: 1 12-oz. bag of fresh-roasted Coffee of the Month. Options include whole bean or ground. You’ll pay $44.99 for the 3-month plan and $149.99 for the 12-month plan.
  • Native American Coffee Subscription: also for either 3 or 12 months, and whole bean or ground options. Each Coffee of the Month will be from the Native American brand line. This plan is $44.99 for the 3-month plan and $154.99 for the 12-month package.
  • K-Cup Subscription: if you’ve got a Keurig machine, you can choose between 16- and 40-count variety samplers of either regular or flavored coffees. Each shipment includes between 3-5 different varieties, and included flavors change monthly. You’ll pay $43.20 for the smaller size and $99 for the larger box, no matter whether you choose regular or flavored.
  • Gourmet Coffee Bean Sampler Box: probably the most novel, customizable option offered by this retailer, this package gives you 4 2-oz. bags of single-origin coffees. As always, you can select either whole-bean or ground. Your order will be hand-selected based on your taste preferences and may include coffee from Costa Rica, Colombia, or even New Orleans! The sampler pack retails for $27, but you can get it at a 10% discount if you subscribe to auto delivery on future shipments.

You might be able to save a little extra if you watch the site for pop-ups. We got a spin-the-wheel opportunity during our last visit to the Coffee Wholesale USA online store: entering our email address let us earn up to 8% off our purchase, depending on our luck when clicking to spin.

Same day roasting

One perk with this smaller business is the freshness of the coffee you receive: they try to ship your orders to you on the same day that they roast it. Where else can you find that? You’ll also have the confidence of knowing that Coffee Wholesale USA wants you to be 100% happy with your Coffee Club, so you can get a product refund or replacement within 30 days of purchase if you’re unsatisfied for any reason.

While this Coffee Club might not be the most robust we’ve seen, they give java lovers a reasonable range of options - all while providing the kind of customer service you might not get with a big-name membership service. We think Coffee Wholesale USA is a solid choice for a Coffee Club subscription if you like the packages they offer.

Cost:

$17.99 to $19.99 / month

For more than 20 years iGourmet has offered gourmet foods clubs, helping "food lovers discover the world of specialty items that exist" outside their local area. The Coffee of the Month club from iGourmet fits this mission by giving its members access to beans from countries across the world and in a wide range of roasts.

Coffee Club Membership Overview

  • Selection: One 12-16 oz bag from around the world
  • Duration: 3-month, 6-month, 12 months
  • Frequency: Monthly
  • Shipping: Free

With each delivery of one 12-16 oz bag of whole bean coffee members will also receive a detailed newsletter which explains the finer points of that month's coffee selection. Including roasting technique, info on the beans in the bag, style of roast, and region the coffee was grown. You'll also learn optimal brewing procedures for each month's shipment. With iGourmet you will experience a range of single-variety coffees and regional blends in an array of roasts.

Coffee Club options

The iGourmet Coffee Club membership choices include:

  • 3-month plan - $59.99 ($19.99/month)
  • 6-month plan - $119.98 ($19.99/month)
  • 12-month plan - $215.99 (17.99/month, save 10%)

We think iGourmet offers a coffee club that delivers quality coffee. They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and free shipping. The only problem is a lack of options; their Coffee of the Month club is too narrowly focused on a certain kind of coffee drinker. They offer no option for those who want ground coffee, those who would like a specific roast month after month, or anyone looking for shipments other than monthly. Because of these factors iGourmet is rated lower than competitors with more customer friendly options.

Continued from above

If you're just stepping away from the same old coffee, day after day, you may not yet know the perfect style for you. Or perhaps you already know you're into subtle fruit or chocolate notes, a medium bodied and balanced blend, or a brew with a sweet, mellow acidity. In any case, we believe the best way to feed your cravings or find your favorite coffee, while exploring the world's great coffee options, is with a coffee club.

While there may be a handful of products in your neighborhood grocery store, these brands barely scratch the surface of what the market has to offer. From Central America, South America, and Hawaii to Africa and Southeast Asia, quality coffee growing regions are spread across the world: each with unique characteristics and flavor profiles. And around the globe the best coffee roasters turn an abundance of beans into seemingly endless varieties. These choices are what the best coffee clubs offer.

With consumers wanting choices and so many great roasters to choose from, it's not surprising that coffee clubs have become more and more popular over the past few years. Equally unsurprising is the fact that coffee club features vary almost as much as the coffee itself. Do your research to select the perfect club for you. Some points to consider are:

  • Price. What is the subscription cost and will you need to pay for shipping? Does the club offer any discounts for longer memberships?
  • Frequency. How often will a shipment be sent? Do you have choices or is there only one option? Can you cancel any time?
  • Flexibility. Are there different subscription types? Can you choose your roast, bag size, or grind?
  • Selection. What comes in each shipment? Is it the same style of coffee each time or are you able to try other styles/roasts?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Coffee Clubs available today. We hope these reviews help you find the right Coffee Club membership to suit your needs!
