Your credit score and credit history are extremely important pieces of information. They are used to determine how much home you can afford; what your payments will be on your car; whether you qualify for credit cards; and even how much you'll pay for auto insurance.

Many times, however, people find their credit history contains negative information. This can range from late payments or too many credit inquiries, to collection agencies or inaccuracies. This negative information can restrict your purchase options and drive up your costs.

Credit Repair is a Florida based company that has been in the business of helping consumers improve their credit since 1997. Credit Repair has partnered with TransUnion and Equifax, the two largest credit reporting agencies, to provide the most efficient and informed assistance.

The Credit Repair process involves three steps in getting results. Upon signing up, Credit Repair instantly pulls a credit report to identify potential problems and identifies the customers goals. The second step includes challenging the banks and finance companies with reporting inaccuracies. Credit Repair also follows up with the credit reporting agencies to confirm that corrections were made. The last step is to make sure your credit score improves.

Credit Repair stands out from the crowd with their interactive and helpful tools. Customers appreciate the online and mobile access to monitor progress, the customized game plan, monthly credit reports and quarterly updated credit scores, credit alerts, identify theft insurance, friendly, expert customer service team, and straightforward pricing. Credit Repair's services do not come with contracts or hidden fees.

Credit Repair delivers results. Historical reporting shows that customers with Credit Repair typically see 7% of their questionable credit reporting problems resolved each month. Credit Repair charges customers an upfront fee for the initial credit report and then a fixed monthly fee for continued services.

Credit Repair not only provides credit repair services but on going proactive measure to help keep you out of financial trouble that might impact your ability to get a mortgage, buy a car and more. Additional tools at this website include an extensive library of financial related articles and education including credit improvement, loans, debt solutions, identity theft, savings and more.

Credit Repair offers callers a free credit consultation, which includes a free credit report and credit score. While Credit Repair is a little pricey, we think they're well worth it. This company is a full service credit repair and financial improvement center. We liked the multiple services related to improving and maintaining a healthy credit report. Cost:

Startup fee: From $47 to $399

Monthly fee: From $47 to $139

Credit Assistance Network is a Florida based company that has been in the business of "credit improvement" since 2004. They currently hold an A+ Better Business Bureau and a 5 star Trust Link ratings. Credit Assistance Network states that they maintain 100% compliance with the Credit Repair Organizations Act. The also state that they prefer to call their services "improvement" over "repair" as it allows customers to have more realistic expectations of what can legally be achieved through their efforts.

The Credit Assistance Repair process is very straightforward:

  • You complete a quick online form that identifies your name, email and phone number, briefly identify your credit problem and your financial goals
  • A credit specialist will call to discuss
  • Credit Assistance Repair determines if they can and will assist you
  • Credit Assistance will mail a dispute letter to all 3 reporting agencies for 45 items or less
  • You must forward any letters and revised reports from creditors and reporting agencies back to Credit Assistance Network

Credit Assistance offers online access to your file to monitor progress, upload required documents and to communicate with the company. They offer two different programs to choose from based on the consumer's needs. The one-time setup fee ranges from $47 to $399. Customers can expect monthly charges between $47 and $139. Credit Assistance estimates that most customers require 6 months of assistance with a total payment of $729, on average. Unfortunately, Credit Assistance requires you speak with a representative before identifying which level of service you'll need and how much that will cost. We would have liked to have seen the "gold" and "silver" plans clearly outlined in writing.

The representatives at Credit Assistance Network are friendly and helpful. However, we were a little concerned that this company doesn't offer a money back guarantee. We also had some concern with the higher set-up fees and monthly charges. These could far exceed the cost of many of the other companies reviewed.

Overall, Credit Assistance Repair has a strong history of assisting customers with their credit repair needs. We felt that their pricing was not as transparent or affordable as companies ranked higher.

A good credit repair service will take on these negative items in your credit history and work to remove them or reduce their severity. They can work directly with the credit bureaus, your creditors, and collection agencies, and use a variety of tactics to get them to stop reporting negative information.

Unfortunately, there seems to be just as many fraudulent credit repair firms running scams as there are legitimate credit repair services. There are a number of features to consider when comparing credit repair services. Some of these include:

  • Effectiveness.  Do they have a successful track record of improving credit scores?
  • Cost.  How do their fees compare with other credit repair services?
  • Guarantee.  Do they back up their service with a refund policy?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best credit repair programs available today. We hope this information helps you reestablish your good credit right away!
