In business for more than 10 years and with a solid A rating as a Better Business Bureau accredited company since 2011, The Credit Pros offer help with removing bankruptcies, foreclosures, charge-offs, collections and more from individuals' credit reports. Their pricing structure is unique among credit repair services: users pay an initial fee of $179 for individuals or $279 for couples, and then an additional $50 per confirmed deletion per bureau and $75 for public records. This "Pay For Results Plan" allows clients to only pay for the services they truly need, rather than paying a monthly subscription for processes that may take several months to complete.
Customers can learn more about working with The Credit Pros by calling a toll-free number, completing an online form to schedule a one-on-one consultation with a certified FICO Professional, or by using a live chat function. It's worth noting that, at the time of this review, the Live Chat feature did not appear to be available; the chat page only showing the words "Live Chat" without a link or any sort of connection to that kind of functionality.
We also were slightly less than impressed to find in the fine print on the sign-up page that customers are required to maintain active credit monitoring. While clients can use TCP's services at $16.95 per month or another service of their choice, we would have liked that information featured more prominently as it does add to the customer's costs for credit repair services.
On the other hand, we do like The Credit Pros' 100% Money Back Guarantee, which offers a full refund for any failure to force the removal of any erroneous credit in the first 90 days. This guarantee could be made more robust by offering that guarantee for any reason.
Customer satisfaction with the services offered by TCP seems to be high, with clients reporting positive changes in their credit report in as little as 8 weeks. The Credit Pros does inform prospective clients to expect the process to take up to 12 months, depending on the complexity of their credit issues; however, given that TCP structures its services per removal, not per month, that could be very economical compared with other providers' monthly fees.
We would like to see specific numbers regarding TCP's successes: how many clients have been served, average times to resolve specific credit issues, and so forth. That information would easily move TCP into a four-star rating.
Credit Assistance Network is a Florida based company that has been in the business of "credit improvement" since 2004. They currently hold an A+ Better Business Bureau and a 5 star Trust Link ratings. Credit Assistance Network states that they maintain 100% compliance with the Credit Repair Organizations Act. The also state that they prefer to call their services "improvement" over "repair" as it allows customers to have more realistic expectations of what can legally be achieved through their efforts.
The Credit Assistance Repair process is very straightforward:
Credit Assistance offers online access to your file to monitor progress, upload required documents and to communicate with the company. They offer two different programs to choose from based on the consumer's needs. The one-time setup fee ranges from $47 to $399. Customers can expect monthly charges between $47 and $139. Credit Assistance estimates that most customers require 6 months of assistance with a total payment of $729, on average. Unfortunately, Credit Assistance requires you speak with a representative before identifying which level of service you'll need and how much that will cost. We would have liked to have seen the "gold" and "silver" plans clearly outlined in writing.
The representatives at Credit Assistance Network are friendly and helpful. However, we were a little concerned that this company doesn't offer a money back guarantee. We also had some concern with the higher set-up fees and monthly charges. These could far exceed the cost of many of the other companies reviewed.
Overall, Credit Assistance Repair has a strong history of assisting customers with their credit repair needs. We felt that their pricing was not as transparent or affordable as companies ranked higher.

Your credit score and credit history are extremely important pieces of information. They are used to determine how much home you can afford; what your payments will be on your car; whether you qualify for credit cards; and even how much you'll pay for auto insurance.
Many times, however, people find their credit history contains negative information. This can range from late payments or too many credit inquiries, to collection agencies or inaccuracies. This negative information can restrict your purchase options and drive up your costs.
A good credit repair service will take on these negative items in your credit history and work to remove them or reduce their severity. They can work directly with the credit bureaus, your creditors, and collection agencies, and use a variety of tactics to get them to stop reporting negative information.
Unfortunately, there seems to be just as many fraudulent credit repair firms running scams as there are legitimate credit repair services. There are a number of features to consider when comparing credit repair services. Some of these include:
