Remo Recover Software is newer to the market and comes in three different "flavors", with two of the three being too bland for most of our needs. While Remo offers several specific file data recovery systems they are broken down in a way that makes the shopping experience more confusing than necessary. In addition, the Basic and Media options are very limited, compared to companies ranked higher. The Pro Edition is much more robust in features but shoppers will pay the price.

We also found that the website is bright and exciting but we quickly discovered that is presents some challenges to shoppers. At first we thought the hyper links were broken but then identified that the information was populating so far down, on the screen, that we didn't see it on our first or 2nd attempt.

Features of the Remo Recover software include:

  • An entire drive can be scanned within a few minutes to recover deleted files
  • Recover of more than 200 file types
  • Files bypassing Windows recycle bin when they exceed in size, files deleted using Shift+Delete or when deleted from Windows command prompt can be recovered as well
  • Rescue files from formatted partitions, even when you have re-installed Windows (Pro Edition Only)
  • Complete hard drive recovery when drive is crashed or does not boot
  • Get important data back from partitions, which are either deleted or missing due to partitioning errors (Pro Edition Only)
  • Recover deleted files, data from formatted partitions and deleted / corrupt partitions from a RAID0, RAID1 and RAID5 array (Pro Edition Only)
  • Identify all file types including office files, photos, audio, video etc. on the basis of their unique signatures and recovers them using signature search with ease (Varies by Edition)
  • Recovered data can be sorted on the basis of name, date, size and file type
  • Recover data from hard drives (SATA / SCSI / IDE etc.), flash memory cards (SD, XD, MMC, Memory Stick etc.), USB external drives, FireWire Drives
  • Supports recovery of data from FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, NTFS5, ExtFAT partitions/drives
  • You can save recovery sessions ensuring that you need not to rescan your drive
  • Create Disk Images to bypass bad sectors, you can later recover data from these disk images (Media and Pro Edition Only)
  • You can preview recovered files prior to data restoration

Remo Recover Pro Edition is packed with numerous features in a simple interface that makes file recovery of deleted or otherwise inaccessible data a breeze. However the Basic version is extremely stripped down with the ability to recover deleted files and the file type support is limited. For media support the Media Edition is needed. Remo Recover sports an operating system specific design. So Windows users are treated to a metro tile-like design which means a simple wizard-like interface with a fast search ability.

Remo Recover is available for Macs with OSX 10.5 Leopard, through 10.8 Mountain Lion and for Microsoft Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2003 or Windows 2008. Windows is the only version with Android support. Remo Software provides a 100% money back guarantee only if the software has unresolvable issues. It is advised to evaluate their demo and read their return policy carefully.

Unfortunately we were less excited about Remo in it's current state. The website presents some confusion, two of the three editions are way too basic and the best choice is priced out of the competition.
