Cost:

$24.95

Undelete File Recovery is a bare bones, straight forward file recovery software that is said to work with Windows based PC's. This company makes a lot of claims and promises but doesn't share the technical details of what that specifically entails. We believe they are gearing the product to the novice data recoverer but without many details which makes it hard to determine who this product is best suited for.

Features of Undelete File Recovery include:

  • 100% guaranteed file recovery
  • Instant preview of files
  • Works with any media type
  • Plus supports FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS & NTFS5
  • A Wizard to help you
  • Folder structure support in Explorer view
  • Predicts your chances of file recovery
  • Supports all versions of Windows except Windows 8
  • Advanced scanning and filter options
  • Demo version available

This company has scaled down the file recovery essentials into an extremely simple and affordable package for Windows users. Unfortunately the program proved too buggy to use under Windows 8. Despite the wizard feature it was clunky to path out to the necessary folders. We ran into several access violation errors when we tried using the quick scan feature and were unable to complete a scan with the demo version.

We also had to constantly resize the window as it changed on its own, hiding several buttons. The anti-virus was also suspicious of the demo even though it didn't find any viruses or malware. The lack of information about the software or the company that makes it leaves us unable to recommend this software.

  • Flexibility. Is the data recovery software flexible and user friendly? Will customers struggle to run the file recovery software?
  • Price. How does the data recovery software compare in price to other data recovery products?
