Amazing Clubs

AMAZING CLUBS

Amazing Clubs is almost always at the top of our list for monthly subscription boxes, and their Dog Treat of the Month Club is the ideal choice for pet-lovers who only want edible goodies in their deliveries. This membership plan is extremely flexible, letting you choose from a wide range of timeframes, as well as letting you pay in full or per shipment with no difference in price. This is our favorite Dog Treat Club for shoppers who aren't looking for toys or accessories in their monthly boxes.

Barkbox

BARKBOX

BarkBox is one of the best-known Dog Treat Clubs, offering customizable monthly deliveries of toys, treats and chews that revolve around novel themes that will keep owners smiling too. The company has a strong reputation with the BBB and a firm commitment to their customers' satisfaction. BarkBox is a good choice for most dogs.

Super Chewer

SUPER CHEWER

If your dog destroys the average pet toy in mere seconds, Super Chewer is the Dog Treat Club designed for your canine companion. Although it costs more than the average subscription box, it's money well spent to get 2 extra-durable toys, 2 bags of treats, and 2 super-tough chews in each delivery. Super Chewer is offered by BarkBox, a company well-known for its 100% satisfaction guarantee and friendly "Happy Team" customer service reps.

Pup Joy

PUP JOY

PupJoy does a great job of sourcing high-quality treats and toys from artisanal producers from around the country, making their Uno and Grande Dog Treat Clubs an appealing choice for those who like supporting small businesses. Even their signup process gives you a level of detail to really get exactly what your favorite dog needs for treats and toys. But, this subscription club is priced higher than a few of their competitors, and some customers have reported having trouble getting responsive customer service after receiving a few disappointing packages.

Dapper Dog

DAPPER DOG

Dapper Dog doesn't just give you treats and toys to make your dog happy: in each monthly delivery, they'll also get a trendy bandana to wear out on the town or in all of your cute Insta photos. This Dog Treat Club costs more than average, and a less-than-clear satisfaction/refund policy could use some attention. But, on the whole, subscribers to this club have very positive things to say about the overall quality of each delivery in Dapper Dog's monthly boxes.

Surprise My Pet

SURPRISE MY PET

Surprise My Pet is a smaller provider of Dog Treat Clubs, with just three subscription options and no clear description of what you'll get in each delivery. But, if customer reviews are any indication, you can expect to get far more than you pay for, with high-quality treats and toys for your dog to enjoy. However, because there's not much information about what comes in every box or the service's satisfaction guarantees (if any), Surprise My Pet only earns average marks.

Pup Box

PUP BOX

PupBox knows that it's a lot of work to care for a puppy - so they created a subscription Dog Treat Club that grows right along with your newest family member. Each delivery has training tips for their stage of development, with treats to help the process and toys to keep them amused. However, many customers say that the value of the products in each delivery don't match the higher-than-average subscription price, and a less-than-impressive refund/satisfaction policy puts PupBox towards the bottom end of our reviews.

Pooch Perks

POOCH PERKS

Pooch Perks has three Dog Treat Clubs to choose from: just toys (3-4 per shipment), or toys and treats (in packages of 5-6 or 8-9 items per box). While some subscribers had nice things to say about their experience with this service, the most recent reviews describe problems with customer service, poor-quality toys, and months of incorrect charges even after cancellation. You'll get a better value for your money with one of the higher-rated clubs we evaluated.

Continued from above

Dog Treat Clubs also make a fantastic gift for those people on your gift-giving list who seem to already have everything they could want for themselves. You won't win them over with a boring gift card or another fruit basket, but watch their eyes light up when they get another package in the mail full of novel chews and tug toys for Rover. Most of these membership subscriptions can be easily gifted for the length of time you prefer, from a one-off shipment to monthly deliveries.

When you start to compare the various Dog Treat Clubs out there today, it's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the options. To find the subscription service that's the right fit for your pet or for your gift recipient's furry friend, here are several criteria to help you "sniff out" the perfect one:

  • Contents. What do you get with each delivery? How many toys and treats are in the typical box? Do they give you a good value for your money, or are they items you could easily find at a dollar store or local big-box retailer?
  • Cost. What will you spend for your Dog Treat Club? Is there a discount if you pay in advance or if you buy a long-term subscription? Is shipping included in the monthly fee?
  • Flexibility. Do you have a range of options, both for payment and delivery schedules? Can you skip a month as needed? What if you want to change the size of the products partway through your subscription term (e.g. to get a few deliveries for each dog in your home)?
  • Reputation. What do other customers say about their experience with the Dog Treat Club? Does the company do a good job of keeping their customers happy, especially with a strong satisfaction guarantee or return policy? Has the business been rated by the BBB?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Dog Treat Clubs available today. We hope this information helps you find the right subscription box to delight all the puppies, doggies, and fur babies in your life for months to come!

Types of Dog Treats

Every dog owner wants to spoil their little cutie, but have you ever stopped to wonder what it is youíre actually giving them? The pet treat industry is surprisingly a lot more interesting than what it may sound like. The majority of pet owners spend $20 or less on treats for their pets; 28% of cat owners and 15% of dog owners spend $5 or less on treats. In this article we will explore the different types of treats and why some are priced higher than others, including how they may effect your pets health.

  • Pet Jerkey. This is perhaps the best type for most dogs. Made from 100% meat these dog treats are the most naturally healthy for dogs, as well as the most nutritious. The Jerkey is similar to what dogs would find in the wild and is therefore built for them to digest easily and gain nutrients, unlike some other types of dog treats. Pet Jerkey is not necessarily best for every dog out there, however most will benefit.
  • Natural Chews. While marketed as being natural and healthy for dogs contrarily most of these types of treats are not good for dogs. Most notably inside this category are the rawhide pet treats. Rawhides are notoriously dangerous for dogs and can be harmful to your pets health. When dealing with natural chews it is important to look at the ingredient list to make sure you are making sure that what you are buying provides nutrients for your pet, as well as making sure it is not outright dangerous for your animal to ingest.
  • Dental Chews. Here youíll notice the Dental Chew section has to be kept separate from the Catural Chew section. You will find this in most online stores as well as in person. Dental Chews do clean your dogs teeth, but what is in them is not good for dogs most of the time. Dental Chews are commercially non meat, something that increases sales when it should decrease. Meat like Pet Jerkey naturally cleans your dogs teeth while they chew on it, and are nutritious and healthy for your pet to ingest. Getting your dog something similar to what they would encounter in the wild is better for their health, and helps them digest naturally.
  • Pet Treats. This may be the last entry on this list, but it is perhaps the most insidious. Pet treats are primarily made of compressed vegetable matter, similar to Dental Chews. The pet treats also are sold as vet recommended and are very commercially successful while marketing themselves as full of meat and nutrients for your pet. In actuality they are usually meat flavored and are in fact made of plants. Plants and plant matter are not natural for dogs to ingest. By giving these treats, you are giving your pet something with absolutely no nutrients for them, and in fact something that could hurt them as it is unnatural.

The whole pet treat industry is full of secrets to learn. While you love your pet, you donít want to pay for something upmarked up to 5 times what it should be priced, only for your dog to get nothing out of it. Look at the ingredients when you buy something for your dog to ingest, and be aware that the goal of the pet treat companies is to make money, not to take care of your dog, thatís up to you! Your dog will love you for giving them something they feel better eating, and youíll feel better taking care of your little cutie!
