Cost:

Starts at $15/month

TopConsumerReviews.com Best-In-Class Blue Ribbon Award Let's be real: dogs can be expensive, but we still love to spoil them rotten! Fortunately, you can give your dog new, fun treats and toys every month without breaking the bank: just look at everything Pet Treater has to offer. This Dog Treat Club is one of the most affordable we've found, without compromising on quality: they actually guarantee that the value of the products you'll get in your monthly deliveries will be worth far more than your subscription price.

Every box comes with a variety of products. You could get toys, treats, accessories or even grooming supplies. You'll never have any edible treats made in China: most of the goodies in the Pet Treater boxes are sourced from the US or Canada.

Getting started with Pet Treater is really easy. First, choose from these plans:

  • Dog Pack: for $15/month, your pup will get 3-4 items (treats and toys). You can also select a Treats Only or Toys Only Pack for the same price.
  • Deluxe Dog Pack: for $25/month, you'll get 5-8 goodies like treats and toys, grooming items and more.

Next, provide information about your dog: size? Allergies? Name/Age/Weight/Breed? Finally, you'll select the pricing plan you prefer: monthly plans are $15 and can be set to renew monthly, every 3 months, every 6 months or every year. Alternately, if you just want to try Pet Treater before making a commitment, you can select the Try It Out Now box for $17 (just $2 more than the regular monthly price).

Your very first Pet Treater shipment will be a "collection of pet-approved favorites", so your unboxing won't look the same as other subscribers' for that initial delivery. From then onward, your deliveries will be the same as other members'. (Speaking of other members, you can take a look at Pet Treater's social media channels or even google "Pet Treater unboxings" to see what past packages have included!)

How does Pet Treater rank when it comes to reputation? The BBB gives the company a solid "A-" rating, with almost no complaints registered there. Looking at customer reviews in other places, Pet Treater really starts to impress. We found loads of recent comments describing boxes packed with high-quality toys and treats, and dogs who have even started to recognize the deliveries when they arrive!

We were also very happy to see how responsive the Pet Treater team is when customers leave comments about a not-so-satisfactory experience: no company is going to hit the mark every single month for every individual customer, so it's refreshing when a business like Pet Treater takes each comment seriously and addresses problems kindly and apologetically. That goes above and beyond the company's stated "no return/refund policy", which says that nothing is offered on the curated packages they send each month. It's always nice to see a company that prioritizes their customers' needs.

Pet Treater is also very committed to helping animal shelters throughout the US. As a partner of Pet Finder Foundation and a supportive partner to their local shelters, the company donates a toy, bag of treats or blanket to a shelter in need. They're also eager to partner with new shelters and happily take suggestions from customers to choose new ones to support.

There are a lot of options out there when it comes to Dog Treat Clubs. Pet Treater is the best of the best, with fun deliveries to match your dog's personality and tastes, at prices that will keep you coming back for more month after month. This is our highest-rated membership club for your favorite Fido or Fluffy.

Cost:

Starts at $29/month

Getting a puppy is a lot like having a newborn. There are so many questions about how to take care of the little one, how to get everyone sleeping on a regular schedule, and how to integrate the "baby" into the household. PupBox was created especially for new dog parents "navigating the many joys of puppyhood".

Once you've created a profile for your puppy, your boxes will be curated to address the stages your dog is likely in. Teething? Housebreaking? You'll get plenty of training guides and treats to help you carry them out! Each shipment will also include a mix of toys, chews and accessories that are just right for your dog's stage of development.

And yes, if your "puppy" is a little more...experiencedů.(i.e. an adult dog) you can still sign up for PupBox. Every delivery will contain 4-7 products that aren't age-specific, and you'll still get training tricks or helpful tips for your older pet.

If you just want a one-off delivery of PupBox to try it out, you'll pay $39. But, if you subscribe for a 3-, 6- or 12-month plan, the savings start to add up: your discounts will range from 12% to 25% for these longer subscriptions. Shipping is included with every delivery, regardless of length.

PupBox says that customers can reach out if any of the products in their delivery don't live up to their expectations, and that they'll send a replacement with no hassle. However, the company doesn't have a customer service phone number, with email, snail mail and social media channels as the only ways to contact them.

That's not a great thing, considering some of the customer complaints we found. Although PupBox had a decent "A-" rating from the Better Business Bureau at the time of our review, there were many negative reviews there that described difficulties getting any response from the company. Customers who were unhappy with their very first box - products weren't a good value for what they paid, or they were sized incorrectly for their large-breed puppy - didn't get a response from company reps.

Plus, there's no cancellation policy if you wind up not liking what PupBox delivers: you're committed to the full term of your membership and can only turn off the auto-renew at the end of your subscription. However, we also found complaints that described customers' frustrations with turning off the renewal but to no avail.

We really like the idea of a Dog Treat Club that follows a puppy's developmental stages and delivers right-on-time help for training, plus corresponding treats and toys. Unfortunately, PupBox has some work to do when it comes to delivering a quality experience to their subscribers.

Dog Treat Clubs also make a fantastic gift for those people on your gift-giving list who seem to already have everything they could want for themselves. You won't win them over with a boring gift card or another fruit basket, but watch their eyes light up when they get another package in the mail full of novel chews and tug toys for Rover. Most of these membership subscriptions can be easily gifted for the length of time you prefer, from a one-off shipment to monthly deliveries.

When you start to compare the various Dog Treat Clubs out there today, it's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the options. To find the subscription service that's the right fit for your pet or for your gift recipient's furry friend, here are several criteria to help you "sniff out" the perfect one:

  • Contents. What do you get with each delivery? How many toys and treats are in the typical box? Do they give you a good value for your money, or are they items you could easily find at a dollar store or local big-box retailer?
  • Cost. What will you spend for your Dog Treat Club? Is there a discount if you pay in advance or if you buy a long-term subscription? Is shipping included in the monthly fee?
  • Flexibility. Do you have a range of options, both for payment and delivery schedules? Can you skip a month as needed? What if you want to change the size of the products partway through your subscription term (e.g. to get a few deliveries for each dog in your home)?
  • Reputation. What do other customers say about their experience with the Dog Treat Club? Does the company do a good job of keeping their customers happy, especially with a strong satisfaction guarantee or return policy? Has the business been rated by the BBB?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Dog Treat Clubs available today. We hope this information helps you find the right subscription box to delight all the puppies, doggies, and fur babies in your life for months to come!
