Join the best Dog Treat Club with Pet Treater Today! Where can you find the best Dog Treat Clubs? These membership plans are a fun, affordable way to lavish a little love on our favorite canine companions. After all, why should humans get all the fun of unboxing and getting new surprises every month?

While there are lots of options out there, there are two main products included in most Dog Treat subscription boxes: treats and toys! The best clubs make it easy for you to customize what you'll get in each delivery, based on your dog's size, preferences, and any allergies or other sensitivities. And, if you've got a pet who can unstuff a plush toy in just a matter of seconds, there are even Dog Treat Clubs that offer special packages designed to thwart even the most determined chewers in the pack!

Cost:

Starts at $27/month

Surprise My Pet is a Dog Treat Club curated by a small, family-owned business with the personal touch. Although this subscription service hasn't been around as long as some of their rivals, it's already making a name for itself with going well above and beyond customer expectations.

We were really excited to read customer reviews that described what they got in their Surprise Box - because the site itself doesn't say much beyond "all-natural treats" and toys! One person said that they got a turkey neck chew, squash/sweet potato treats, a pumpkin pie cookie, a squeaky plush bone and a trick or treat toy, while another customer said that after trying many different Dog Treat Clubs they felt that Surprise My Pet was the only one that "overdelivered". That's good news!

You've got 3 subscription options with Surprise My Pet: month-to-month, 3 months, or 12 months. Your monthly cost for each plan is $35, $32, or $27 respectively - you'll make a one-time payment of $96 or $324 for the 3-month and 12-month subscriptions.

With every purchase, this provider donates a portion of the profits to organizations and charities nominated by their customers - so you can do something nice for your pet, for shelter animals and other good causes at the same time.

But, there are some ways we felt that Surprise My Pet came up short when compared with similar services. Besides the fact that there was no detailed description of what customers can expect in each box, there was also no satisfaction guarantee or refund policy. So, if you pay for a 12-month plan in advance and find that the deliveries aren't a good match for your pet, can you get your money back? We're not sure. There also was nowhere to specify the size of the dog, so if you get a gigantic chew toy for your Pomeranian, we don't know if you can exchange it.

Also, Surprise My Pet is provided through a third-party service, CrateJoy. If you want to contact the company, you'll only be able to do that through an email form on the CrateJoy site.

We feel really encouraged by the compliments this Dog Treat Club gets from current and past subscribers, and it’s great to hear that their deliveries include top-quality treats and toys. But, when looking at other services that are very transparent with what’s in each box and what to expect with respect to returns and guarantees, Surprise My Pet winds up in the middle of the pack.

Cost:

Starts at $29/month

Getting a puppy is a lot like having a newborn. There are so many questions about how to take care of the little one, how to get everyone sleeping on a regular schedule, and how to integrate the "baby" into the household. PupBox was created especially for new dog parents "navigating the many joys of puppyhood".

Once you've created a profile for your puppy, your boxes will be curated to address the stages your dog is likely in. Teething? Housebreaking? You'll get plenty of training guides and treats to help you carry them out! Each shipment will also include a mix of toys, chews and accessories that are just right for your dog's stage of development.

And yes, if your "puppy" is a little more...experienced….(i.e. an adult dog) you can still sign up for PupBox. Every delivery will contain 4-7 products that aren't age-specific, and you'll still get training tricks or helpful tips for your older pet.

If you just want a one-off delivery of PupBox to try it out, you'll pay $39. But, if you subscribe for a 3-, 6- or 12-month plan, the savings start to add up: your discounts will range from 12% to 25% for these longer subscriptions. Shipping is included with every delivery, regardless of length.

PupBox says that customers can reach out if any of the products in their delivery don't live up to their expectations, and that they'll send a replacement with no hassle. However, the company doesn't have a customer service phone number, with email, snail mail and social media channels as the only ways to contact them.

That's not a great thing, considering some of the customer complaints we found. Although PupBox had a decent "A-" rating from the Better Business Bureau at the time of our review, there were many negative reviews there that described difficulties getting any response from the company. Customers who were unhappy with their very first box - products weren't a good value for what they paid, or they were sized incorrectly for their large-breed puppy - didn't get a response from company reps.

Plus, there's no cancellation policy if you wind up not liking what PupBox delivers: you're committed to the full term of your membership and can only turn off the auto-renew at the end of your subscription. However, we also found complaints that described customers' frustrations with turning off the renewal but to no avail.

We really like the idea of a Dog Treat Club that follows a puppy's developmental stages and delivers right-on-time help for training, plus corresponding treats and toys. Unfortunately, PupBox has some work to do when it comes to delivering a quality experience to their subscribers.

Dog Treat Clubs also make a fantastic gift for those people on your gift-giving list who seem to already have everything they could want for themselves. You won't win them over with a boring gift card or another fruit basket, but watch their eyes light up when they get another package in the mail full of novel chews and tug toys for Rover. Most of these membership subscriptions can be easily gifted for the length of time you prefer, from a one-off shipment to monthly deliveries.

When you start to compare the various Dog Treat Clubs out there today, it's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the options. To find the subscription service that's the right fit for your pet or for your gift recipient's furry friend, here are several criteria to help you "sniff out" the perfect one:

  • Contents. What do you get with each delivery? How many toys and treats are in the typical box? Do they give you a good value for your money, or are they items you could easily find at a dollar store or local big-box retailer?
  • Cost. What will you spend for your Dog Treat Club? Is there a discount if you pay in advance or if you buy a long-term subscription? Is shipping included in the monthly fee?
  • Flexibility. Do you have a range of options, both for payment and delivery schedules? Can you skip a month as needed? What if you want to change the size of the products partway through your subscription term (e.g. to get a few deliveries for each dog in your home)?
  • Reputation. What do other customers say about their experience with the Dog Treat Club? Does the company do a good job of keeping their customers happy, especially with a strong satisfaction guarantee or return policy? Has the business been rated by the BBB?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Dog Treat Clubs available today. We hope this information helps you find the right subscription box to delight all the puppies, doggies, and fur babies in your life for months to come!
