Exercise Bikes in Colorado

Colorado residents can go biking in the mountains without even leaving their front door. An innovative type of exercise bike that sits in their living room has the ability to deliver a very intense workout and give a realistic cycling experience. The spinner exercise bike features a chain-drive and quick-stop braking, higher seat position, low handlebars, and support for multiple riding positions. For a more advanced rider, this bike is almost like a racing road bike, and of the three types of exercise bikes available, requires more intensity from the cyclist.

For riders who are not quite so experienced, a more suitable choice is the upright bike. This is built more like a traditional bicycle, with hands positioned in front, pedals placed directly underneath the body, and a padded saddle-style seat. Many models are available in the upright style of exercise bike; minimum purchasing requirements should include the option to vary resistance levels, a seat that adjusts easily and quickly to fit the rider's height, and pedals that are wide enough for all foot sizes. A warranty should also be in place with purchase of the exercise bike; minimum provisions should offer at least one year on the parts and labor. With all the different models available in an upright exercise bike; it is easy to find one that has the desired capabilities.

The recumbent style bike is the most comfortable exercise bike for people with back problems or who are more than fifty pounds overweight. It is also great for people with arthritis or other orthopedic conditions, as it puts little stress on joints and limbs. This type of bike features a bigger, chair-like seat that supports the back and offers extra stability. The rider cycles from the reclined position, with weight evenly distributed over a larger area. The back and buttocks are fully supported, placing little pressure on the back. Pedals are located out in front. Many physical therapists recommend riding this type of an exercise bike to patients who are recovering from injuries or surgery.

Anyone living in Colorado has a wide variety of options to choose from when it comes to selecting the ideal exercise bike.
