Exercise Bikes in Wyoming

Many Wyoming residents are enjoying the benefits of a low-impact workout at home. Exercise bikes offer a gentle workout, without the jarring impact on hips, knees, and ankles typical of other forms of cardiovascular exercise. In addition, an exercise bike can be ridden without regard to weather conditions. There are many benefits to riding an exercise bike.

The recumbent exercise bike features a large, chair-like seat that supports the back and offers extra stability. The rider is in a reclining position, with body weight evenly distributed over a larger area. The back and buttocks are fully supported, with foot pedals out in front of the bike. Because of the excellent lumbar support, the recumbent bike is perfect for people who are experiencing back problems, are more than 50 pounds overweight, or suffer from arthritis or other orthopedic conditions. Many physical therapists recommend this type of bike to patients who are rehabilitating from surgery or injuries.

The upright exercise bike is similar in build to a traditional bicycle. It has a small padded seat, handlebars that are out in front of the bike, and pedals that are located directly below the seat. Many people who have ridden an outdoor bicycle are familiar with this type of bike.

There are many available features when it comes to exercise bikes. The lower-priced models offer quiet handling, workout resistance, and easy height adjustment for the seat. Other models have built-in workout programs and heart-rate control. The more elite models offer electronic functions that track distance ridden, average speed, and calories burned by the rider. Top-of-the-line exercise bikes include push-button resistance control, a hi-tech LED display console, pulse-driven workouts, and a larger amount of workout programs. Some even include luxuries like built-in fans to keep the cyclist cool, iPod connectivity with built-in speakers, magazine racks, and water bottle holders. Whatever the desired features, there is a bike out there that has them all.

Anyone living in Wyoming can benefit from the low-impact workout an exercise bike can give.
