Glasses Shop

GLASSES SHOP Visit Site

The Glasses Shop has been in business since 2004, and they offer a good variety of glasses and sunglasses. However while their website is attractive and easy to navigate were not able to see in the search exactly how many pairs of glasses were available.

The Glasses Shop provides their customers several ways to search for eyeglasses:

  • Gender
  • Size
  • Shape
  • Material
  • Frame
  • Color
  • Features

The Glasses Shop offers single vision, progressive, as well as a blue blocker lens, which is a digital protection lens. They seem to always have a promotion or sale, and their pricing are very competitive.

Customer service hours at The Glasses Shop are Monday-Friday 9-5, EST if you have any questions and need to contact them.

The Glasses Shop also has an interesting feature on their website which they clal their Look Book. This is where their customers can post pictures of themselves in their eyeglass from the Glasses Shop. If you post a photo of yourself in your new eyewear you can earn bonus shopping points towards discounts off of your future purchases.

The Glasses Shop provides a 90-day warranty for defects in materials and workmanship. They also offer free shipping on orders of $79 or greater.

We did find some customer complaints about the quality of the lenses and how long it takes to receive the merchandise. Products are made and shipped from China, so estimated delivery time can be 3-4 weeks.

Overall, The Glasses Shop is worth considering if you're looking for eyeglasses for a reasonable price.

39 Dollar Glasses

39 DOLLAR GLASSES Visit Site

39 Dollar Glasses has been in business since 2001. One of the nice things about 39 Glasses is that all of the orders are made in their New York laboratory. This means their turnaround time is significantly less than those companies that we reviewed that were based outside of the U.S.

The 39 Dollar Glasses website is easy to navigate and gives you a number of options to search with, including:

  • Gender
  • Frame material
  • Frame shape
  • Frame color
  • Total frame width
  • Temple length
  • Lens type

The price that they advertise for their frames includes thin and lightweight lenses featuring 100% UV protection and anti- scratch coating. Most orders ship within 2-7 business days. Shipping is $4.95 on orders less than $99. Orders $99 and greater have free shipping.

Another feature we liked is their Rewards Program. When you purchase from 39 Dollar Glasses you are automatically enrolled in their Eye Bucks Rewards Program. 4% of your eyeglass purchases will be deposited into your customer account that you can use for money off of your next purchase.

They also have a convenient return policy. If you are unhappy for any reason you may return your eyeglasses for a one-time exchange at no cost or a full store credit for up to 90 days after delivery. Return shipping is free. If you have a shipping charge on your initial order it is non- refundable.

Customer service at 39 Dollar Glasses is only available M-F between 9-5, which isn't as good as some of the other companies we've reviewed that offer 24/7 phone access. However they do a have a virtual customer service agent available 24/7. Also, at the time of this review the FAQ section on the company website was blank. With their limited customer service hours and not being able to go to the FAQ page and get information during the hours that customer service isn't available, their overall customer service not as attractive as the other companies that we reviewed.

We didn't find many customer complaints about 39 Dollar Glasses. Most customers said they felt as thought they have a reasonably priced product and that they respond to customer service and warranty issues in a timey manner.

While 39 Dollar Glasses offers some nice features, including a rewards program, their customer service issues bring their rating down in our review.

Continued from above

As you consider the various companies that offer eyeglasses, keep in mind these basic criteria:

  • Selection: How may frames does the company offer? Do they have an easy to navigate website that allows you to easily search for the frame style and lens type that you are looking for?
  • Cost: Which eyeglasses are the best quality for the price? The overall cost of your eyeglasses also includes any shipping or return charges the company may charge as well. When looking at the cost of the eyeglasses you will also want to consider if they offer a warranty on their products.
  • Customer Service: Does the company have a 24/7 customer service number that you can call? Are their hours going to be conducive to your schedule if you need to contact them? Do they have a virtual customer service representative available 24/7? Does the company have a history of satisfied customers? All things to consider when you are evaluating the customer service of the company that you are choosing to do business with.
