Goggles 4 U

GOGGLES 4 U Visit Site

Goggles 4 U has been in business since 2002. With 414 styles of men's glasses, 885 women's frames and 49 different frames for children of basic eyeglasses they have several great options to choose from.

Goggles 4 U offers a wide selection of search options including:

  • Prescription type
  • Price
  • Size
  • Material
  • Frame Type
  • Frame Style
  • Eye Width
  • Frame Shape
  • Nose Bridge
  • Temple Size

They offer scratch resistant, anti-reflection, and UV protection on their bifocal, progressive and single vision lenses.

Goggles 4 U advertises that you will get your first pair of eyeglasses for $9.90 delivered and that it includes frames, lenses and shipping. However if you're searching for name brand lenses you will not find them here. They do have very stylish and attractive frames, just not name brands that come along with the name brand pricing.

The standard shipping charge from Goggles 4 U is $5.95. They offer a 15-day warranty on all frames and stock lenses. Goggles 4 U also offers a convenient eyeglass measuring guide so you're able to measure your eyeglasses yourself. This makes it easy to understand the dimensional breakdown which should help you to avoid any sizing and fitting issues with your new eyeglasses. They also offer a video on their website to walk you through how to measure your frame size.

These glasses are made in Thailand and Pakistan, so the delivery time once your order is process is 14-21 days. You can contact Goggles 4 U 24/7 via a toll- free number.

We found very few customer complaints about the company. Most customers were happy with the quality and service that they received.

Even though the shipping time takes longer than other companies that we reviewed, Goggles 4 U is upfront and honest about their delivery times so there should be no surprise there. If you're looking for basic glasses that are reasonably priced and aren't in a huge hurry to receive them, Goggles 4 U is definitely worth considering.

Salt City Optics

SALT CITY OPTICS Visit Site

Salt City Optics specializes in getting new lenses into your existing frames. While they do have a small number of "Closeout Frames" you can browse through, The real reason most people visit Salt City Optics is to get replacement lenses for eyeglass frames they already own.

When you first visit the Salt City Optics website, you find a menu bar with Eyeglasses, Sunglasses, and Reader Lenses, and Closeout Frames. The process of ordering new lenses for your existing frames is outlined in detail and seems like a very easy one to follow.

First you select the eyeglass type that you have, then choose the options you want for your new lenses. Most lens options include the following:

  • Vision Type (Single or Progressive)
  • Lens Material (Polycarbonate, Trivex, or High Index)
  • Lens Tint (multiple options and colors)
  • Premium Treatments (Anti-Glare, Blue Light Coating)

You can enter your prescription on the Cart page when you checkout, or you can email it to them separately.

Once you've completed your order, Salt City Optics sends you a box with a prepaid shipping label. Simply place you frames into the box and drop it in the mail. They custom make your frames specifically to fit your eyeglasses, and send them back to you.

If there are any issues with your lenses once you receive them, Salt City Optics will return or exchange your lenses within 30 days. They'll even send you a pre-paid return label for you to ship your lenses back.

The processing time is a little unclear. Their website states that processing time varies per lab servicing your order. This leads us to believe that they have one of several labs preparing your lenses for you. Standard shipping is 5-7 days and is free.

Customer service is available by email or phone Monday-Friday 8am-6pm MST.

If you're simply looking to replace the lenses in a pair of eyeglasses that you already love, Salt City Optics may be a great choice for you.

As you consider the various companies that offer eyeglasses, keep in mind these basic criteria:

  • Selection: How may frames does the company offer? Do they have an easy to navigate website that allows you to easily search for the frame style and lens type that you are looking for?
  • Cost: Which eyeglasses are the best quality for the price? The overall cost of your eyeglasses also includes any shipping or return charges the company may charge as well. When looking at the cost of the eyeglasses you will also want to consider if they offer a warranty on their products.
  • Customer Service: Does the company have a 24/7 customer service number that you can call? Are their hours going to be conducive to your schedule if you need to contact them? Do they have a virtual customer service representative available 24/7? Does the company have a history of satisfied customers? All things to consider when you are evaluating the customer service of the company that you are choosing to do business with.
