Prepare to have your mind blown when you look at what Eight has to offer in the foam mattress department. Did you ever think that your mattress could trigger your lights to turn on when your alarm clock goes off? Or automatically turn on a "bed warming" feature if the room temperature gets colder than you'd like? Eight can do all of that - and more.
Billing itself as a "sleep improvement system", the primary feature of Eight's mattresses is the Smart Cover (which is also sold separately from the mattress, if you already have a mattress that you like). The Cover fits like a standard mattress pad and provides you with a wealth of information about your sleep habits - sleep phases, breathing rate and heart rate, for example - similar to what you would get from today's popular bracelet-style sensors, but without having to wear anything extra.
The Smart Cover also incorporates a warming feature with two zones, so if you like it toasty and your bed partner doesn't, you can both have it your way.
Even more impressive is the way the Smart Cover can be connected with other Wifi-enabled products, allowing you to create a "smart bedroom". Want the lights to dim when you set your mattress to night mode? It can do that. How about lowering the thermostat when you're finally asleep? Yes, it can do that too - assuming you have the additional, non-Eight products needed.
Eight offers Smart Mattresses in four sizes: Full, Queen, King, and Cali King. So, if you're looking for a high-tech twin mattress, you're out of luck at Eight. They do offer the same mattress base - minus the sensor pad - in Twin and Twin XL, so you can still send your kid off to college with a great mattress. You just won't be able to keep tabs on his sleeping habits.
The mattress itself consists of four layers of foam:
Customer reviews are extremely positive, for both the Smart Cover and the Eight mattress itself. Shoppers say that they've consistently gotten a great night's sleep, even after using the mattress for several months. Eight does provide a 100-night trial: if you don't love your Eight mattress, you can get a 100% refund, and Eight will pay for the return shipping. Given that it can take some time to get the smart features integrated and detecting properly, we think this is a great perk offered by Eight.
Like most foam mattress retailers, Eight ships all mattresses for free. Keep a look out for special promotions, too; at the time of our review, Eight was offering two free pillows with every mattress purchase. Also, if you're a student, first responder, or active/retired/veteran military, check out the links at the bottom of the page to save an additional 10%.
Unless you're specifically looking for a smart twin mattress, Eight is an excellent choice for your foam mattress purchase - especially if you love having the latest tech at your disposal...even when you sleep.
Foam Mattresses
To help you find the Best Foam Mattresses, TopConsumerReviews.com provides you with an in-depth Eight Sleep Review.
Foam Mattresses are the latest trend in the mattress industry. A few years ago consumers were able to choose between one or two foam mattress brands - but now, several companies compete in the memory foam mattress business.
Adults are attracted to both the comfort and support that a well-made foam mattress provides, especially over the standard spring mattress. Many people that have complained of back pain for years are now finding relief from simply buying a new mattress made of foam. The design of foam mattresses eliminates the pressure points that can cause body pain and restless sleep.
With a number of new companies entering the foam mattress market, it's important to know what to look for when shopping for a foam mattress. Before you make the move to purchase a foam mattress, you should consider the following:
TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Foam Mattresses available today. We hope these reviews help you find that perfect night's sleep right away!
