Cost:

From $26.95 to $201.95

Variety is the spice of life, especially if you are looking for a gift basket at All About Gifts and Baskets. They have many options to choose from and have a fair selection of fruit baskets too. Many of the fruit baskets also include other types of gourmet snack options to add that something extra to your fruit basket gift. Some of the options include nuts, chocolates, caramels, cheese, and crackers, making certain you can find something that appeals to your gift recipient. Each item has a detailed description which tells you exactly what is included in your gift basket so that you know exactly what you are paying for.

Fruit baskets at All About Gifts and Baskets range in price from $26.95 for a box of California's finest pears to $201.95 for a massive assortment of different fruits and treats, so it should be easy to find an option within your budget. It is also easy to pay for your baskets as All About Gifts and Baskets accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and PayPal. They have also taken appropriate steps to ensure your information is safe.

The website organization is sufficient but can be confusing. There are detailed categories on the left-hand side to help narrow the results and larger occasions/holiday groupings at the top to help as well. They also have a search bar where you can type a keyword and have results returned. Once your results are filtered, you can then sort by price or by top sellers. Finding the section for fruit baskets is a little confusing because there is not a predefined category for them until you type in a keyword search. Save yourself some time and use our link to the site below that will take you directly to the fruit baskets.

All About Gifts and Baskets also guarantees your satisfaction. You do need to read the fine print on the guarantee so that you understand what is included. If you do run into trouble, then it is best to email then right away (within 1 week or the guarantee is void) and they will work with you to get resolution on your issue.

If you do happen to be in the market for non-fruit options, take a look at the selection All About Gifts and Baskets has. They have great reviews and the baskets are attractive. You may find just what you are looking for.

The biggest downside to using All About Gifts and Baskets is that they do not own an orchard or directly source the fruit for their fruit baskets. They are a bit vague in telling you where the fruit comes from, but instead you know it is from California and Florida - so you may not be getting fresh from the farm or orchard service. Having said that, there are many positive reviews about the selection and quality of fruit baskets on this site. The prices are right in-line with their competitors and shipping costs are reasonable. This makes it a solid choice in our book.

Cost:

From $35 to $125

FTD offerings include flowers, plants, gift baskets, balloons, chocolates, and fruit baskets. The options for fruit baskets are somewhat limited and most include other non-fruit items in them, like chocolates, nuts or cheese. The pictures on the website show average looking baskets, but we recognize that FTD usually fills their orders from local FTD affiliates, so what the basket may look like once delivered could be different.

The detailed fruit baasket descriptions on FTD's website do explain what is included in each item, but no mention is made of where the fruit comes from or what quality and inspection process they complete to ensure the fruit is fresh and blemish free. But FTD does have a "Love it, or we'll make it right" guarantee, which helps put customers at ease.

Fruit boxes and baskets at FTD range in price from $35 for the "Good" size "Fruit and Cheese Box", compared to $125 for the "Share the Goodness of California Fruit & Gourmet Basket". The range of prices creates options that can appeal to a variety of budgets. Shipping costs can be pricey, and they are not shown until you get to the very end of the order process (after you have entered your shipping information), so until then you do not know how much more the basket will be than the advertised price. They do offer an FTD Gold Membership that you can purchase for $30 that will give you free standard shipping, no service fees and reduced shipping on same day or premium delivery methods for one year. FTD accepts standard payment methods, but also includes PayPal.

The downsides to using FTD would be the concern for quality and the lack of many options when it comes to fruit baskets. There were also several negative reviews on the Better Business Bureau website, but all of them seemed to be closed satisfactorily with a full refund due to FTD's customer service pledge. The Gold Membership is also a nice option to help save on shipping costs if you plan to make multiple purchases in the year. Overall, FTD is average when it comes to fruit baskets, which is why this one ends up in near the middle-to-end of our list.

Some questions that might come to mind include where do I find a reputable company, how can I ensure the fruit is good and not too ripe, what type of fruit do I want to include in the basket? When looking for the best company to purchase your fruit basket, you'll want to consider the following:

  • Supplier of the Fruit. Where is the fruit grown and how does it make its way to your gift basket? Will it change hands several times before it gets to you? Or will it come straight from the orchard? The freshest fruits will come from companies with a direct connection to an Orchard.
  • Selection. How many different choices does the company have? Do they have a range of prices and sizes available so that you can find the perfect one? Is there variety in the contents of each basket to delight the recipient?
  • Cost. How does the cost compare from one site to another? How much fruit am I getting in the basket compared to a similar product on another site? What are the shipping costs? Are there any service fees?
  • Satisfaction Guarantee. Does the site offer a satisfaction guarantee? Under what circumstances will that guarantee be valid? Fresh fruit is a perishable item that is rarely able to be returned. Working with a company that has a satisfaction guarantee will protect you and ensure you are satisfied with your purchase.
