Wine Country Gift Baskets

WINE COUNTRY GIFT BASKETS Visit Site

Cost:

From $24.95 to $300

Wine Country Gift Baskets offers a wide selection of gifts, including chocolates, wine, fresh and dried fruit, and much more.

When it comes to Fruit Baskets, you'll have 18 different choices, ranging from dipped strawberries and farm fresh fruit on the lower end of the price spectrum, to the Fruit and More Extravaganza Gift Tower for a present that will definitely impress.

Shipping is free on most Fruit Baskets, which you'll clearly see as you browse the available options. During the checkout process, you can also set your delivery for multiple recipients, if you're giving the same gift to a group of coworkers, for example. And, Wine Country Gift Baskets will entice you with extras as you finalize your order, like a 50% savings on a Chocolate and Sweets Tower, to go along with your Fruit Basket.

If you want to include a gift message, you'll also find that in the checkout process. You can choose a printed message, multimedia message (audio/video/photo that you select), or none at all.

Wine Country Gift Baskets has a mixed reputation. Looking at the customer reviews on the BBB site and in other places, we weren't impressed. The most frequent complaints we found were related to gift delivery: even if you're given a guaranteed delivery date, like Christmas, you can't count on it actually getting there that day. We also found comments describing differences in what was pictured vs. what was delivered, including a Christmas gift set sent in place of a Valentine's Day package!

Although Wine Country Gift Baskets offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee, some customers report that it can be difficult to actually get a refund or replacement, and that often their credit cards were charged in error (duplicate orders, etc.) but the problem wasn't taken care of quickly.

On the other hand, we were pleased to see their "A+" grade at the BBB, along with accreditation spanning almost two decades of their 29+ years in business. That's a good sign.

We also liked seeing numerous positive reviews of individual Fruit Baskets. For example, the Fruit and Favorites set - pears, apples, oranges, crackers, hummus, chocolate, and more - has more than 250 reviews, with 93% at a 4- or 5-star level.

Wine Country Gift Baskets is a good choice for sending fruit and other treats. We recommend that you pay close attention to your delivery dates, tracking information, and billing, however, to ensure that your gift-buying experience is as positive as possible.

Edible Gifts Plus

EDIBLE GIFTS PLUS Visit Site

Cost:

From $39.95 to $128.50

Edible Gifts Plus is a family-owned business that wants to delight you with their offerings by providing the freshest and tastiest treats for any occasion. They have several unique options, including some adorable giant fortune cookies, that are sure to please. But once you turn your attention to fruit baskets only, Edible Gifts Plus is a disappointment.

Finding the complete selection of fruit baskets is a challenge. The site is organized to allow you to search through the product offerings by occasions, holidays, shop by category, specialty treats or corporate gifts. There is also a search bar at the top where you can enter keywords to search. With these options, it should be easy to locate the fruit baskets. Unfortunately, this is not the case. There is not a menu option to see all the fruit baskets (only one to show "Fruit and Gift Baskets" that returns several unrelated items) and a keyword search only reveals 5 results. The best selection we found was by clicking the link to the Edible Gifts Plus site found below, where we were presented with 6 options, ranging in price from $39.95 to $128.50.

Once you start to peruse the baskets, you can see that fruit baskets found on this site are not of the same quality as the other sites on this list. While competitors' baskets seem fresh and abundant, the fruit baskets at Edible Gifts Plus seem boring and minimal. The descriptions are also vague and do not provide clarity on what you will receive in the gift basket.

Purchasing a gift from Edible Gifts Plus is easy. Payment options all major credit cards and PayPal. Be cautious when purchasing as there is not return policy once your order has been prepared and shipped. If you have a problem with your order, you need to contact customer service within 24 hours if you want to get any type of refund since the company does not typically accept refunds. They will however replace an item but save all the packaging as your basket may need to be inspected before a refund is given.

If you are serious about getting a fruit basket, this is not the site for you. The options are limited and just do not look as nice as others on this list. But if you are open to other gifts, they may have some that will appeal. The fortune cookies look amazing. Or if you own your business and want to get personalized treats with your company logo on them, Edible Gifts Plus can help you with that. Because of the lack of selection of fruit baskets and the disappointing presentation, Edible Gifts Plus ends up at the bottom of our fruit baskets list.

Some questions that might come to mind include where do I find a reputable company, how can I ensure the fruit is good and not too ripe, what type of fruit do I want to include in the basket? When looking for the best company to purchase your fruit basket, you'll want to consider the following:

  • Supplier of the Fruit. Where is the fruit grown and how does it make its way to your gift basket? Will it change hands several times before it gets to you? Or will it come straight from the orchard? The freshest fruits will come from companies with a direct connection to an Orchard.
  • Selection. How many different choices does the company have? Do they have a range of prices and sizes available so that you can find the perfect one? Is there variety in the contents of each basket to delight the recipient?
  • Cost. How does the cost compare from one site to another? How much fruit am I getting in the basket compared to a similar product on another site? What are the shipping costs? Are there any service fees?
  • Satisfaction Guarantee. Does the site offer a satisfaction guarantee? Under what circumstances will that guarantee be valid? Fresh fruit is a perishable item that is rarely able to be returned. Working with a company that has a satisfaction guarantee will protect you and ensure you are satisfied with your purchase.
