Features:

Selection includes approximately 55 clubs

Shipping is a flat $6.95 on all orders

Returns accepted within 30 days even if used, under Pinemeadow's

30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

Founded in 1985, Pinemeadow Golf features golf clubs that are known as "clones": ones that have a similar look and feel to recognized brands like Callaway and PING. They also carry their own proprietary designs, as well as traditional golf gear like balls and clothing.

To get started, we highly recommend using the Custom Fitting Wizard; you'll find the link at the bottom of the page. You'll be asked to enter various information, such as your swing speed, floor-to-wrist height, and your handicap. From there you'll get a personalized recommendation for the flex and length they recommend; your results will save automatically, and any custom fit options will default to your specifications.

Otherwise, you can go directly to the Browse All Products tab, to look for the golf clubs you'd like to consider. You'll probably notice right away that Pinemeadow's prices are much more affordable than many other retailers'. Remember, this is due to the fact that most of what they sell is a "clone", meant to compete with the name-brand clubs. For example, as you browse the products, you may spot a fairway wood that is comparable to a Callaway model or a driver that imitates the features of a TaylorMade design.

Once you've selected a club, you'll be able to customize it according to your gender, desired flex and length, shaft, and grip. We liked how each option was clearly shown in the dropdown boxes, and there were no surprises with which selections added to the total price of the golf clubs.

Customers report fantastic performance with these "clone" clubs, making it affordable to play at a higher level and improve their skills. In fact, many of Pinemeadow's customers report that they are playing better than they did while using the name-brand equipment.

Pinemeadow Golf also has an excellent reputation, including an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau with zero customer complaints - an amazing track record for a company that has been in business for 28 years. They truly stand by their products, as demonstrated by a standout guarantee: not only do all of their clubs come with a one-year warranty, but they are also backed by a 100% satisfaction promise. "Play it, drive it, or putt it and if you're not happy, return or exchange it." We didn't find any other golf clubs retailer that was willing to offer returns on used merchandise.

Although their selection is quite a bit smaller than other retailers of golf clubs, Pinemeadow Golf earns very high marks for affordable pricing, quality equipment, and fantastic customer-friendly policies like low-cost shipping and satisfaction guarantees.

Features:

Selection includes around 130 clubs

Shipping is free on any order

Returns of new, unused equipment allowed within 30 days of shipment

Since 1982, Callaway has sought to provide golf clubs and related gear that is "Demonstrably Superior and Pleasingly Different". Consisting of four main brands - OGIO, Odyssey, Toulon Design, and Callaway itself - the company has had hundreds of tournaments won by pros using their equipment, including Phil Mickelson, Michelle Wie, and Henrik Stenson. And, Callaway's famous Great Big Bertha driver was named "the greatest club of all time" by Golf Digest.

Using the site is easy. Starting with the Products tab, you can quickly find your way to the pages for Drivers, Wedges, and other clubs. Not sure what you need? No problem! Each category of club has a Selector Tool right at the top of the page; answer a few questions about your style and typical course, and you'll be guided to the best choices for your particular player profile. We really like how each club comes with customer-written reviews, so that shoppers can tell at a glance what other golfers have to say about the real-world performance of Callaway's clubs. The reviews specify the accuracy, feel, quality and distance, along with a profile of the golfer him/herself - so that you'll know if the reviewer has a profile similar to yours (age, level of expertise, handicap, usage frequency, and so on).

Also, under the Products heading, you'll find another great feature Callaway offers: the Trade In! Trade Up! Program. Believe it or not, your trade-in is not limited to just Callaway brands. You can trade in up to $2500 in equipment each calendar year, which goes a long way towards buying new golf clubs.

Callaway is one of the few retailers we found that also offers a rewards program. It's free to join, and you can earn points on your purchases as well as by visiting a Demo Day, interacting with them on their website, and so on. You can redeem your points for assorted Calloway gear, like golf balls, towels, and even stand bags.

Pricing is competitive - we didn't find lower prices on any other site, so along with the rewards program and free shipping on all orders, you'll probably save money buying directly from Callaway than from a general golf clubs retailer.

But, because Callaway only sells their own products, you'll obviously be out of luck if you're looking for brands like Titleist or TaylorMade. This lack of variety may be a turn-off for some shoppers, especially those who like to mix-and-match what's in their golf bag. However, Callaway's reputation and customer perks make them a great choice for people who are loyal to the brand.

Continued from above

Every golfer can benefit from starting with a club fitting: a one-on-one session with a certified specialist who can match the right equipment to an individual's height, swing speed, and average trajectory. For those who don't have access to such professionals in their area, there are even services online that allow golfers to enter their basic body measurements and performance statistics to determine the best drivers, putters, and wedges for their unique style.

If you already know exactly what you need, consider shopping for your golf clubs online. You'll find the very same equipment offered in local pro shops, but often at a significant savings. And, of course, most of these online retailers carry an extensive line of extras, such as bags, balls, shoes and other apparel, making it a time-saving one-stop-shop for all of your golfing must-haves.

When considering the various stores that offer golf clubs, there are several factors to keep in mind as you shop:

  • Product Availability: How many golf clubs does the store carry? Do they offer many different brands or just a select few? How wide is their selection of accessories?
  • Price: How do the prices compare with other online retailers and your local golf shop? Is shipping included? Are there any discounts or membership plans available that could save you a little more?
  • Reputation: What is the business' track record with respect to customer service? Are customers typically satisfied with both the shopping experience and the quality of the golf clubs they buy? Is the company accredited by the Better Business Bureau?
