Where can you get the best health insurance? Healthcare costs are on the rise and constantly changing. There are few things in life as important as your health, and when professional care is needed, you want to ensure you're getting the best treatment that won't break the bank. There are also few things as confusing as the ins and outs of insurance and medical treatment costs. Being informed about the differences in healthcare coverage options will help you avoid surprise bills after seeing a provider.

It could take a frustrating amount of time to call around to different insurance companies to compare rates and coverage. Unfortunately, some providers are very hard to reach by phone and make you jump through hoops to have your questions answered. Transparency and accessibility from your health insurance company is important so you know what you are paying for. Thankfully there are many online sources to help you compare these companies quickly.

INDIVIDUAL HEALTH QUOTES

Visit Site

Individual Health Quotes is a reliable place for comparing health insurance quotes. They have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and thousands of happy reports from customers to back this up. Their website is professional and user-friendly. Most importantly, Individual Health Quotes provides free, instant quotes from a wide range of insurance companies.

They offer one of the most extensive lists of insurance types we have seen, including the following categories:

  • Major Medical
  • Short-Term Medical
  • Fixed Indemnity
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Critical Illness
  • Accident
  • Group Major Medical
  • Group Short-Term Medical
  • Group Fixed Indemnity
  • Group Dental
  • Group Vision
  • Group Critical Illness
  • Group Accident

Before providing quotes to consumers, Individual Health Quotes asks for the prospective insured's zip code, date of birth, height, weight, household size, gender, major health conditions, full name, address, phone number, and email address.

Once you submit your personal information, a list of insurance quotes is immediately available for your viewing. You can narrow this list by carrier, deductible, copayment, max out-of-pocket, plan type, plan categories, monthly premium, tax credit eligible, pediatric dental, and HSA eligible. Each insurance plan shown is ranked as either a bronze, silver, or gold plan. On the side bar, Individual Health Quotes clarifies what each of these rankings mean. You can also view extensive coverage details for each plan before deciding to begin enrollment.

You can sign up directly from the Individual Health Quotes site once you've made a decision about the health insurance plan you'd like to purchase. When reviewing the quotes, there is an online chat feature available if you have any questions or concerns along the way. Outside of the quote process, you can always get in touch with Individual Health Quotes by phone or through an online contact form.

Besides offering health insurance quotes, there is a "learn" tab that gives readers clarification on acronyms used to describe types of health plans along with an explanation of HSA accounts. We would have liked to see more resources for customers using this site to help them understand the ins and outs of insurance, including definitions, news updates, and tips on choosing the right plan for them.

Overall, Individual Health Quotes is a great option when looking for a new health insurance plan. They provide fast, reliable information and a good customer experience, and are a solid place to start your health insurance plan search.

QUOTE WHIZ

On the Quote Whiz health insurance page, there is very little to see or do. Your main option is to fill out a health profile that asks a series of questions needed to match you with quotes. You are asked to provide your birthday, height, weight, tobacco use, insurance situation, if you've been denied coverage, if you are an expectant parent, whether you are on social security or disability, and if you have any pre-existing conditions.

To finalize the health profile, you must provide your full name, address, email, and phone number. A check box with fine print underneath your personal information lets you know you are authorizing Quote Whiz to send telemarketing calls and text messages to you. If you want to receive quotes without providing consent, your only option is to call a phone number provided and speak with a representative.

After submitting your personal information, you are directed to a site that should provide insurance quotes for you to review. Instead of viewing insurance quotes, we received a message saying they could not accept our data at this time. We then could scroll through a list of other companies to contact who may be able to help provide us quotes. Some of these sites included Trumpcare and Obamacare, which weren't very useful to us.

Outside of the health profile, there are two sections of links that provide you with more information. One is a "Health Insurance Articles" link with 15 articles ranging from a healthcare reform topic to news about health insurance for smokers. The other link is "Health Insurance FAQ" with 9 articles about things like why you need health insurance, what determines a premium, the differences between group and individual insurance, and more. Each article is quite short, usually about a paragraph or two. Some links we clicked on even resulted in no information at all, but rather just allowed you to click on a "Find the Best Rates Now" button.

Overall, we were disappointed with the Quote Whiz site because it could not deliver the service it was built for. They request information on your part, but provide hardly anything in return. We suggest using one of our higher-rated services for health insurance quote comparisons and not wasting your time here.

Understanding the differences between health insurance coverage options is also useful for when your needs change. If you have a change in employment, location, or overall physical health, you may end up needing a different kind of insurance. Being able to compare quotes easily online will save you a lot of work and give you peace of mind about making this big change.

Before diving into the world of health insurance selection services, we suggest you take the following things into consideration:

  • Convenience. Do you have to make a phone call to an agent every time you have a question? Ideally you are able to obtain insurance quotes online and skip the hassle of making phone calls all day.
  • Accessibility. When you need to speak to an agent, you want to get a human on the phone without having to talk to a series of robots first. If you have an urgent question, it will also be important for you to be able to speak to someone without waiting on hold forever.
  • Transparency. Do you know exactly what providers are covered through each health insurance company? Do you know how much they will pay vs. how much you will pay? What happens after you meet your deductible? Make sure you are able to find out all the little details about a health insurance company so that you aren't feeling lost or overwhelmed about your treatment options.

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Health Insurance programs available today. We hope this helps you find the right health insurance plan to meet your needs!
