What's the best HGH Supplement? HGH (Human Growth Hormone) is naturally produced by the pituitary gland in our bodies and secreted into our bloodstream. Hundreds of clinical studies have shown this hormone to fight the dreaded aging process by regulating metabolism, stimulating muscle and bone growth, improving heart function, boosting sexual function, and regulating overall body composition.

As we age, HGH naturally decreases in our bodies (as much as 12-15% each decade after turning 30), causing some age-related bodily deterioration. The decrease in HGH over time is manifested as a slower ability to heal from injuries, a harder time losing weight, loss of energy, and so on. To combat the decrease of HGH, the hormone can be supplemented in the body. This can be done through injections, ingesting capsules, sprays, or powders.

GenF20 Plus

Cost:

$82.99/bottle with bulk discounts

GenF20 Plus is a combination supplement consisting of an oral spray taken six times each day alongside two capsules. The price for this product seems comparable to the other HGH supplements we considered. The spray and tablets are typically purchased together, but can be purchased separately if desired. A one-month purchase can be made for $82.99 or you can pay for as much as a 6-month purchase initially at $399.99.

There are no known side-effects of taking GenF20, but there is also no clinical proof of its effectiveness. The claims made for this supplement are based off of customer feedback and naturopathic research. They suggest taking the spray and supplements for at least 3 months to see the full effects, but some people report feeling better in as little as 2-3 weeks. This is a product meant for long-term use and they warn that if you stop taking the supplement, HGH levels will decrease.

Looking at the ingredient information, we found that they skirted having to fully disclose the ingredients of the spray by saying "it has been formulated to include a complementary blend of amino acid compounds and botanical agents including the clinically proven HGH booster ‘Alpha GPC."' They then go on to list the benefits of Alpha GPC and a few other HGH booster ingredients, but they withhold the full ingredient list. For the tablets, 16 ingredients are listed with an explanation of the benefits for each ingredient. It is unclear, however, if this is a full ingredient list.

A 67-day return guarantee is in place for anyone wanting to return their products. They require you send back up to two empty kits and then any additional unused and unopened kits as well. This does not allow customers to try GenF20 for the full 3 months like they recommend, but could be beneficial for any customers experiencing buyer's remorse.

A list of testimonials can be found on the website, but we wish that customers were able to leave public reviews for GenF20 to give more reliable feedback about how effective this product really is. There is also a "Medical Proof" section of the site that has reviews from three different doctors as well as quotes from journals about the power of HGH. It should go without saying that reviews by medical personnel and excerpts from journals are not medical proof by any means. The lack of reliable testimonials and failure to fully disclose ingredients in the oral spray are the reasons this supplement did not earn our top rating.

Renuva

Cost:

$59.95/container with bulk discounts

Renuva is a clinically tested, orange-flavored drink mix that works with the pituitary gland to support the production of the "youth hormone" to reduce symptoms of aging. Customers are instructed to mix 1 or 2 scoops of Renuva into 4-8 oz. of water on an empty stomach for 5 days a week when they wake up in the morning. After 3-6 months, you can expect to see the full benefits like higher energy levels, deeper sleep, relief from joint pain, less fatigue, and so on.

Each container of Renuva lasts one month. For one container, the cost is $59.95. If you order a 3-month supply, your cost is $119.95, and a 6-month supply is $199.95. Customers qualify for free shipping on their first orders. There is also a monthly auto-ship program where the product is sent to you when your last order is about to run out. This program allows customers to qualify for some additional discounts. The ingredients for this product are listed out on the website with an explanation of what each ingredient does for the body. However, we found that both on the website and the container of Renuva, there is a lack of information about the potency of each ingredient is included in the product.

Most of the ingredients are listed as a "proprietary blend" at 2.48 grams, but individual ingredient quantities are not listed. There are less healthy ingredients that are left off of the website, but that can be found on the container like sucrose, maltodextrin, citric acid, fumaric acid, malic acid, natural orange flavor, and silicon dioxide. One particular ingredient to be aware of is niacin. There haven't been reported side-effects of this product besides people experiencing the "niacin flush": a reaction caused when blood vessels begin to expand. The skin may become red and either burn or itch for about 10-15 minutes.

Renuva was piloted in a clinical study conducted at LSU's Pennington Biomedical Research Center as well as the Center for Nutrition and Preventive Medicine in Charlotte, NC. The website has a link to read this study and the outcomes, but there is an error page instead. As a result, it is inconclusive whether or not they found clinical benefits of this product.

Overall, Renuva seems to get good reviews from customers on third-party sites. Not knowing the potency of the ingredients in the powder makes it hard to know if it is as potent as some of our highest rated HGH products like GHR1000 and the HGH Energizer. It is unlikely that they are as potent, since they aren't willing to list the quantities. They also have more unnatural, sugary ingredients included because this is a drink mix. This isn't a bad product to try, but you might be better off starting with a higher-rated product.

Continued from above

Since the FDA still has tight control over HGH injections, alternative products are cheaper and easier to access. Studies have indicated that doing an HGH supplement regimen can reverse the effects of aging by 10-20 years. These supplements are shown to improve sleep, increase muscle mass, lower cholesterol, increase energy, decrease body fat, enhance sexual performance, increase hair growth, and more. Sounds like magic, right?

Not all HGH products are created equal. Some can prove harmful if taken in too high of doses or may produce negative side-effects. HGH is also not recommended for people below 21 years of age, pregnant women, or those who have or have had cancer. It seems like the obvious thing to do, besides using the best product as directed, is to pair it with exercise and healthy eating for the best results.

Before diving into the world of HGH supplements, we suggest you take the following things into consideration:

  • Ingredients. Is the product synthetic or natural? Do any of the ingredients conflict with medications you are currently taking? Do people report side effects?
  • Price. If you want longevity and great health results, it will come at a price. Keep in mind that some companies suggest using their product for at least 6 months before seeing results, so you'll be buying more than one bottle.
  • Guarantee. What if you use this product for the recommended amount of time and see no results? Money-back guarantees for expensive health supplements are a good perk if your chosen product comes with one.

To help you identify the best HGH products on the market, TopConsumerReviews.com has listed a variety of products and done the research for you. We hope this helps you find the right HGH supplement for your needs!
