YOWZA FITNESS

Yowza Fitness is no stranger to the home fitness industry, with a wide range of products for getting a good workout at home and hundreds of reviews from satisfied customers who purchased treadmills, ellipticals, and more. Their latest addition is the GravityGym, a home gym system that allows you to get a total body workout using your own body's weight.

Because the GravityGym is so new, we definitely recommend that you take a look at the demo video on the main product page - so that you can see the home gym's features in action and get a better idea of how the machine works. You'll see that you operate the GravityGym by stepping on the main platform after setting the power adjustment switch to the desired resistance, anywhere from 20-90% of your own body weight.

There are more than 17 different exercises you can incorporate into your workout while using this home gym: squats, chest fly, standing ab crunch, wide-grip pull-ups, and many others. Setup is very simple: some users have been able to assemble the GravityGym in 20 minutes, with step-by-step instructions for each part.

Equipment overview:

  • Type of Home Gym: Weightlifting, Gymnastic, and Resistance technology
  • Cost: $1,299
  • Different Models: 1
  • Financing Available: Yes, offers no-interest payment plan if paid in full within 12 months
  • Weight Resistance: Dependant on your body weight at 20-90% of your total weight
  • Return Policy: 30 day trial period
  • Guarantee: 7 years on the frame, and 3 years on the parts, with a 1-year in-home labor warranty
  • Shipping: Yes

To further analyze Yowza's customer service, we used the online chat facility. The representative was friendly and knowledgeable, and they quickly answered our range of specific questions about the machine.

Another feature we really like about Yowza is their financing program. The program consists of a no-interest payment plan as long as the balance is paid in full within 12 months. This is a fantastic offering when purchasing a big ticket item. Also, shipping is free within the U.S.

Yowza accepts returns (with an authorization or RMA obtained in advance) within the first 30 days of purchase, in the event that you try the home gym and decide it doesn't meet your needs. The only slight drawbacks to the Yowza home gym are the limited options (only one), and the lack of user reviews (because of how new the GravityGym is).

Overall, the Yowza GravityGym should definitely be on your list of home gyms to consider, and we look forward to seeing many positive customer reviews as it gains more time on the market. Plus, with the coupon code TCR5%, you can save 5% off the purchase of ANY machine. We give the Yowza Fitness GravityGym very high marks for competitive pricing and discounts, quality customer service, and a wide range of resistance levels that can meet most fitness enthusiast's needs.

WEIDER

Joe and Ben Weider created Weider Health & Fitness which was comprised of magazines, supplements, and exercise equipment over 30 years ago.

The Weider home gyms reaffirm that you get what you pay for. Essentially the products aim to mimic commercial grade home gyms but unfortunately fall short of serious body building needs. Still, they can be effective at firming and toning up specific muscle groups and can give you a good workout. With a limited warranty, however, you're taking more of a risk than with some other systems.

Installation takes about 2-6 hours dependant on the model you choose. We found several complaints about installation issues with the door model. We also discovered quality issues with a number of past (and discontinued) models previously sold on the market.

Equipment overview:

  • Type of Home Gym: Resistance technology and vinyl weights
  • Cost Range: $199 - $399
  • Different Models: 5
  • Financing Available: No
  • Weight Resistance: 175- 210 pounds
  • Return Policy: 30 day trial offer on certain products
  • Guarantee: 90 day warranty
  • Shipping: Not included

Overall, Weider home gyms left us wanting more. While effective for light workouts, they fall short of the commercial-grade muscle building models they try to mimic. We were disappointed with the limited warranty and shipping costs. We recommend you choose a higher ranked product for a solid work out.

Home Gyms

To help you find the Best Home Gyms, TopConsumerReviews.com provides you with an in-depth comparison of Yowza Fitness and Weider.

Are you looking to work out? Do you want to lose some extra weight that you've built up? Maybe you want to add some muscle or firm up some areas of your body? Home gym systems provide the convenience of getting in shape at your home and on your schedule, without an audience of onlookers or stressful and expensive monthly membership dues.

There are basically two different types of home gym systems - gyms with weight plates, and gyms with resistance systems. Weight plate gyms come with a various set of weights that you use to work out. These home gyms are generally more complex, more expensive, and better recommended for serious body builder individuals.

Resistance systems use methods other than heavy weights to fulfill your workout regimen. These home gyms are typically much more affordable and easier to move, but depending on the type of system they may not be as effective or easy to operate.

Several different brands of home gyms exist today. These gyms range greatly in cost and quality, so before you make the decision to purchase a home gym, you need to consider several factors. Some of these include:

  • Cost.  What is the price range for the different home gyms offered?
  • Weight Resistance.  What is the maximum weight resistance accompanied with each home gym?
  • Return Policy.  Does the company enable you to return your home gym for a full refund if you're not happy with it?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Home Gyms available today. We hope these reviews help you find that healthier, happier you!

What Are The Benefits Of A Home Gym?

Exercise and eating a healthy, balanced diet are the best ways to not only ward off unwanted pounds, but also to keep yourself healthy.

But in this day and age, with ever-increasing demands on us from the work and home fronts, who has time to actually go to a gym? The good news is you don't need a gym to get a good workout in at home.

What are the benefits of a home gym?

The biggest benefit of a home gym is convenience. Unless you belong to one of those 24-hour health clubs, most gyms simply are not open during the extended hours most people need in order to squeeze in a workout there. When you have a home gym, you can squeeze in a workout any time of the day. Even if you're the mother of three, with a home gym, you can find time to fit in a workout without worrying about finding childcare first.

A home gym is also less expensive to operate. Aside from the initial investment in the equipment you wish to include in your home gym, there are no monthly membership fees, no initiation fees and no hidden costs. You spend some money up front, but the investment will last for years.

There also is the elimination of the extra time it takes to travel to and from a gym. Unless you are lucky enough to live in an area where the gym is right next door, most people travel an average of 10-15 minutes to reach a health club. That's 30 minutes or more spent just driving to a facility, when that time could have been spent working out at home.

Another benefit of having your own home gym is the elimination of waiting in line to use equipment at the gym. While gyms have a variety of equipment, they often only have one of each kind of weight machine, and maybe a handful of cardio equipment. If you visit the gym during one of its peak hours, you may find yourself standing around waiting to use equipment more often than you are breaking a sweat. With your own equipment at home, waiting in line is no longer an issue.

Another big advantage to a home gym is that you can work out in anything you choose. For most people, going to the gym can be a stressful event. You have to wear the right kind of workout clothes and be presentable. For working professionals, encountering clients or other coworkers at the gym is a reality. So working out in your old ratty sweats you've had since college probably isn't a great idea in a gym. But at home, what you wear isn't an issue.

With a home gym, exercisers also can tailor their workout equipment to what they hope to accomplish. If you prefer cardio, then an investment in a good treadmill or elliptical machine is a good start. If you only wish to tone your muscles, rather than get big and bulky, then some light free weights should do the trick. One of the biggest drawbacks to an expensive gym membership is that much of the equipment that is available is never used by the average exerciser. With the home option, you get to decide what you need and how much to spend on it.

One of the biggest complaints about gym memberships is that gyms often can turn into a social situation, which many exercisers find unappealing. There is nothing worse than having a limited time to work out, and spending it being hit on by random strangers.

So no more excuses about not having time to exercise. With a little research and upfront cost, you can do it from the comfort and convenience of your own home.
