Because these are easily installed (and uninstalled), and simple to use, you do not need to connect them into any existing home wiring. Make sure to close and lock all windows and doors before you leave home for the day. Do not advertise on social media when you are going to be away for longer periods of time (e.g. a ballgame, a concert, on vacation).
