Many places hiring hourly workers through Snag are local places you probably already spend some of your time - like McDonald's, Target, Lyft, or the local daycare. You are able to view your commute time right from the job description you select. Weeding out full-time, higher-level positions allows Snag users to focus on job opportunities more specific to their needs.

A select few cities including Richmond, Washington D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Orlando, and Baltimore (with more coming soon), are able to utilize a shift system set up through Snag that allows you to get alerts about open shifts at local businesses, review requirements, sign up for the shift, and get paid weekly for the hours you work. Have you ever heard of a more flexible job? It's a great way to get paid to work around your personal schedule and get experience through a variety of businesses.

Some positions are listed with a special tag labeled "Urgently Hiring". This lets applicants know that the employer is looking to fill the position quickly and will probably have a fast response time. Requirements and qualifications are straightforward and provide plenty of information to know if it's a good idea to apply. Based on other similar jobs, an estimated pay range is provided with each open position.

A helpful tool for job seekers on Snag's website is their blog with tips for landing a job. They have articles listed by topic such as working, applying for jobs, interviewing, and finding a job. Some articles are job specific and would be highly beneficial for job seekers looking to enter a new field.

Snag works just like their name - it is designed to help you quickly and easily find a local job that will fit your schedule. Unfortunately, the Better Business Bureau gives Snag a D- rating. This is largely based on practices that affect employers, rather than job seekers. However, this may signal that it's not the first place employers will want to seek out candidates and therefore may not be the first place you'll want to search for your job. But, because we found many positive comments based on job seekers' experiences with Snag, this job search engine still receives a solid ranking in our review.

Job works a bit differently than the other sites we reviewed. You are not able to view any job listings without first uploading a resume and filling out some personal information on their site. Once your resume is uploaded and information filled out, Job gets to work finding job matches for you by "reading" your resume through an algorithm. The option to scroll through job openings across different industries is not available.

When using this website, you leave the job searching up to the algorithm and wait until they notify you of relevant jobs in your area. This may take some time, so job seekers will need to be patient and maybe use their services in addition to another job search site where you are able to get immediate information and listings.

Our initial thought when landing on their site was that their process is not straightforward and quite confusing if you're just looking over the homepage. A Visa Prepaid Reward Card program was the main thing displayed upfront, which seems to have nothing to do with job searching. As it turns out, if you open a Visa credit card through Job, you get the equivalent of 5% of your first year's salary on the Visa card after 90 days of being hired by a new company. That might not be what most job seekers are initially looking for when coming on their site, but hey, maybe some people will be into that.

Job is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has no feedback from their site. Other third-party review sites give Job an overall poor rating due to outdated job postings, email spamming, and search results unrelated to job seeker interest. Based on the initial confusion of how this site works and poor feedback from users, we suggest you start looking for work using one of our higher-ranked job search services first.

Having a higher number of job listings also means lots of employers find that search engine useful to them and are likely to check applications and respond faster.
  • Usability. Do you have to make an account every time you apply for a job? Are they going to spam you with emails afterward? Are you getting all the appropriate information on a job listing before deciding to apply? You're putting a lot of yourself out there when applying for jobs, so it is important that you use a professional job site that is frequently updating job postings and easy to navigate.
