Prepare For Your Next LSAT Exam with Magoosh Today! Where is the best place to find LSAT Test Prep online? The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is one of the most important tests for students hoping to have a career as a lawyer. The test has existed in some form since 1948 as a way for law schools to assess their candidate's academic status.

Not only is it a pain to retake the LSAT if you don't get a satisfactory score, but it will end up costing about $200 per time, not including the price of sending scores to different law schools. The costs and time add up - it makes sense to study hard and just do well the first time around.

Cost:

From $49 to $2,450

Manhattan Prep was started by Zeke Vanderhoek in 2000. He is a Teach For America alumnus and graduated from Yale. Vanderhoek wanted to provide resources for students studying for tests such as the LSAT, GRE, GMAT, SAT/ACT, and EA.

99th percentile

Zeke's goal was to have the most accomplished educators to help students reach academic success. The instructors who are employed by Manhattan Prep have all scored in the 99th percentile when they took the tests they instruct for. We like the idea of such high-quality test prep services, but we wish they made it easier to see exactly what classes are available for students without having to navigate multiple pages of the website.

Over 1 million students

Manhattan Prep has served over 1 million students, taught over 16,000 classes, sold over 1 million books, and served over 190 countries through their platform. Their four paid study options range from $49 - $2,450, so they are one of the more expensive LSAT test prep services on the market. Students can sign up for a free trial class to get a taste for the instructor, course material, and teaching strategies. For anyone unsure about whether to commit to Manhattan Prep, this is a great place to start.

Best LSAT Test Prep Programs

4 LSAT test prep programs

There are four paid options for LSAT study materials at Manhattan Prep. They include:

  • CrunchTime. For $49, you receive live online course available before every LSAT test date to give a last-minute strategy review.
  • LSAT Interact. For $500, you receive 60+ hours of interactive video lessons, all of the Manhattan Prep books, and a comprehensive self-paced study plan.
  • Complete Course. For $1,300, you receive 30 hours of classroom instruction over 10 hours, complete strategy guide set, full access to an on-demand prep course, and digital practice exams.
  • Private Tutoring. For $2,450, you receive one-on-one personalized instruction and can be done online or in-person.

Online classes

Manhattan Prep has more resources than just the paid study plans we have listed. As mentioned, you can attend one of their online classes for free and also test drive their LSAT Interact course. There are free practice games, events, blogs, and forums that might give some insight to students about the LSAT and Manhattan Prep's platform. They are zero risk, so go ahead and give them a click if you're browsing around Manhattan Prep's website.

Students rave

We found that students rave about the instructors who teach the course material at Manhattan Prep. This is not surprising considering they have scored in the 99th percentile and are experts in taking the LSAT. Surely their tips and tricks alone will prove extremely valuable to test-takers. There is almost nothing negative to be found about their services on any third-party sites, which is unusual (in a good way).

Solid choice

Because of this, we were shocked to find that the Better Business Bureau (BBB) only gave Manhattan Prep a D+ rating. Typically, this is a red flag for us, but the customer satisfaction helps us remain confident in Manhattan Prep. Their BBB rating is a brand-new profile with one unanswered complaint, which may have tanked their rating. Over time we expect to see their score go way up. So, regardless of the BBB in this circumstance, Manhattan Prep has earned one of our highest ratings among LSAT test prep services.

Continued from above

The LSAT test is an integral part of law school admissions processes in the United States, Canada, and Australia. It's administered 7 different times throughout the year. The test is 3 hours and 30 minutes long, broken into six sections including multiple choice, an unscored experimental section, and an unscored writing section.

The raw scores are converted into a total score between 120 and 180. When a student applies to law school, either the highest of their test scores (if they have taken the LSAT multiple times) is reported or an average of their scores.

For students hoping to get into specific schools and programs, the LSAT is a big deal and taken very seriously. A student's LSAT score is a big determining factor in their future, so there is no question as to whether or not a lot of studying should be done beforehand.

Thankfully there are a few high-quality LSAT test prep sites that students can take advantage of. Some offer full-length practice tests, practice questions, one-on-one tutoring, video lectures, and more. There is so much material out there that a student can easily find a program that works for them and achieve a score that opens many educational opportunities. Although the test prep platforms aren't usually free, it will be worth the cost to feel confident on test day and skip the hassle of taking the LSAT over and over again.

Before buying a membership for one of them, we suggest you keep the following criteria in mind:

  • Cost. How does the cost of the LSAT study service compare to their competitors? Does the price reflect the amount of quality study material you are receiving?
  • Instruction Method. What type of course content does the LSAT test prep service come with? Does it fit your particular learning style?
  • Use of Materials. Most LSAT courses are available for a limited time. Make sure you choose a membership plan that gives you plenty of time to get prepared before taking the LSAT!
