Looking beautiful can cost a pretty penny. There are many things to consider when evaluating makeup products, such as product and shipping costs, as well as quality vs quantity. It can be a delicate balance, especially since once you find a product that shows off your best features, you naturally want more of it.

Beauty Brands has been in business since the early 1990's. At first, the company focused on selling hair products, but now their inventory includes top of the line cosmetics.

The website sports a modern, trendy feel, perfect for the customer looking for the latest in beauty tips. Their inventory includes a wealth of top makeup brand names:

  • Tarte
  • Smashbox
  • Stila
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills
  • Laura Geller Beauty
  • Julep
  • KCO Colors by Beauty Brands

Online shoppers can quickly narrow their search by selecting some of the following categories:

  • Face
  • Eye
  • Lip
  • Brushes
  • Tools
  • Sets

Our favorite feature of the site is the dedicated "Sale" page. Customers can find coupons, holiday specials, and discounts. They can also find gift ideas and limited time offers. Such an array of budget-friendly pricing showcases the many years of experience this company offers. Beauty Brands understands that looking good shouldn't cost a lot of money.

If deals are what you are looking for, then we highly recommend signing up for the "Take 10 Rewards" program. This program provides several benefits to its members:

  • 10% off when you spend $100.00
  • Five services from the in-store spa when you pay $100.00
  • Exclusive discounts

You can contact Beauty Brands via email, phone, or mail. They promise free shipping for orders over $50.00 and have a generous 60-day return policy. You must include your receipt. Unlike other online stores, Beauty Brands will issue a gift card if you need to return a gift.

Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by this website. It is organized and easy to navigate. We have no problems finding answers to any question. With very good customer service and a streamlined website, we highly recommend this site to anyone new to shopping for makeup online.

Kiss and Makeup was founded by Fay Feder and Amy Friedman. The physical store is in Cedarhurst, New York and has been in business for over thirty-two years. At the time of this review, Kiss and Makeup held an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

The website is streamlined and has a modern, fun vibe. New customers will enjoy the company's transparency compared with competitor sites, which seem to play on an element of mystery with beautiful language but little facts.

Kiss and Makeup's home page is well-organized, with information readily available and easy to find. According to the site, the company tests all the products they carry. Many popular brands carried at Kiss and Makeup include SmashBox, NARS, Rodin, Eve Lom and many more. Consumers can customize their search by selecting any of the following categories:

  • Brand
  • Price
  • Color
  • Face
  • Eyes
  • Lips

Our only concern with this site is that we could not find any membership club for customers. We did find sale information, but at the time of this review, there were no sales posted.

There are over two hundred reviews posted to the site. Most praised the company for product excellence and customer service. Quality wins over quantity where this company is concerned. We read more reviews on other websites, most which gave Kiss and Makeup high scores.

You can contact the company via mail, phone, and email. Free shipping is available for most domestic orders. Unlike many beauty companies, Kiss and Makeup does accept and ship international orders. To return an item, fill out the online return request form. Once you receive the RMA number, send the item back for a complete refund. Returns must be submitted within thirty days.

Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with Kiss and Makeup. With over thirty years of experience, it is clear this company understands how to make their customers happy. They have a high reputation for satisfaction, and we hope they will provide more customer rewards and perks in the future.

Some of the factors you should consider when choosing the best beauty products include:

  • Rewards Programs. Are there incentives for frequent purchases?
  • Discounts. How much of a price-cut is available? How often?
  • Inventory. Can they send you what you need when you need it?
  • Customer Service. What kind of return policy does the company offer?
  • Reviews. What do others say about this beauty supply company?

In addition to these aspects, there are other factors to keep in mind when picking out the right makeup product:

  • Are there makeup brands that work with your skin?
  • Do these use ingredients you like?
  • Can you find help in picking out the best color combinations?
  • Can they address a concern?
