Kiss and Makeup was founded by Fay Feder and Amy Friedman. The physical store is in Cedarhurst, New York and has been in business for over thirty-two years. At the time of this review, Kiss and Makeup held an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

The website is streamlined and has a modern, fun vibe. New customers will enjoy the company's transparency compared with competitor sites, which seem to play on an element of mystery with beautiful language but little facts.

Kiss and Makeup's home page is well-organized, with information readily available and easy to find. According to the site, the company tests all the products they carry. Many popular brands carried at Kiss and Makeup include SmashBox, NARS, Rodin, Eve Lom and many more. Consumers can customize their search by selecting any of the following categories:

  • Brand
  • Price
  • Color
  • Face
  • Eyes
  • Lips

Our only concern with this site is that we could not find any membership club for customers. We did find sale information, but at the time of this review, there were no sales posted.

There are over two hundred reviews posted to the site. Most praised the company for product excellence and customer service. Quality wins over quantity where this company is concerned. We read more reviews on other websites, most which gave Kiss and Makeup high scores.

You can contact the company via mail, phone, and email. Free shipping is available for most domestic orders. Unlike many beauty companies, Kiss and Makeup does accept and ship international orders. To return an item, fill out the online return request form. Once you receive the RMA number, send the item back for a complete refund. Returns must be submitted within thirty days.

Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with Kiss and Makeup. With over thirty years of experience, it is clear this company understands how to make their customers happy. They have a high reputation for satisfaction, and we hope they will provide more customer rewards and perks in the future.

Return Policy:

15-day policy for new or unused items with a receipt

Planet Beauty has been in business since 1992. According to their website, they strive to provide, "a one-stop shopping experience". The company carries an extensive inventory of over 20,000 beauty products.

Regarding makeup, the site offers a wide array of popular and specialty brands. You can narrow your search through helpful filters:

  • Category
  • Rating
  • Bristle type
  • Skin type
  • Color family

Customers can peruse through competitively priced brand names such as AHAVA, Bare Essentials, and Ren. You can also customize your search even further by selecting any of these options:

  • Ingredients
  • Finish
  • Concerns

We were happy to learn about the company's loyalty program. This program rewards points to customers when they spend a certain amount of money:

  • Silver: Earn $15 for every 350 points; one point for every dollar spent.
  • Gold: Once you earn 350 points, you're promoted. Gold members receive 1.25 points for every dollar spent.
  • Platinum: Earn 750 points and receive 20% all purchases. Platinum members receive 1.5 points for every dollar spent.

Our only concern with this company is that they do not offer any reward points for online purchases. Unfortunately, the program is only available for in-store purchases. We hope they will reconsider this policy and provide bonus points for online purchases.

One area in which Planet Beauty shines is customer service. They also offer free shipping for orders over $34.00. However, this offer is limited to the continental United States. We found over 300 reviews on other websites, praising Planet Beauty for their excellent service.

Overall, the site is sleek and organized - when it is functioning properly. Unfortunately, across several days, we had difficulties accessing the website. And, considering most beauty sites use rewards programs to set them apart, we were disappointed they did not include online purchases in their rewards program.

Some of the factors you should consider when choosing the best beauty products include:

  • Rewards Programs. Are there incentives for frequent purchases?
  • Discounts. How much of a price-cut is available? How often?
  • Inventory. Can they send you what you need when you need it?
  • Customer Service. What kind of return policy does the company offer?
  • Reviews. What do others say about this beauty supply company?

In addition to these aspects, there are other factors to keep in mind when picking out the right makeup product:

  • Are there makeup brands that work with your skin?
