Spinlife vs Easy Med Online

Best Mobility Scooter Stores

Who has the best Mobility Scooters? For those with difficulties getting around at home or in public, mobility scooters are the most popular way of helping them stay active and engaged in life. From simplifying shopping trips to making it possible to get safely from one room to another, mobility scooters make it possible to stay independent even when users are managing difficult health conditions that affect their mobility.

When deciding which mobility scooter is right for you or for a loved one, the first consideration is what it will be used for. For example, the type of scooter you'd buy for someone who will use it primarily indoors is vastly different from what would be necessary for long trips outside. Another factor to consider is weight and portability: will you need to be able to lift it into a van or other vehicle for transport?

Spinlife

SPINLIFE Visit Site

Cost:

From $649 to $5,249

SpinLife is the nation's biggest mobility scooter store. With headquarters in Ohio, this BBB-accredited company currently has an "A+" rating

You'll find their website very simple to use, allowing you to shop by the type of scooter or wheelchair you want, or by well-known brands like Pride and Drive Medical. You can also sort your results by weight capacity or price range. We found their prices to be on par with competitor stores.

Making their scooters even more affordable is a 110% price match guarantee, should you happen to find a particular model at a lower price on a similar website. Plus, you'll get free shipping on every order of $50+, which definitely includes all of the mobility scooters sold by SpinLife.

This is one of the few retailers that doesn't charge a restocking fee on scooters - but be aware that if you should order a power wheelchair, those do have a 15% restocking charge. In all cases, you can return your power scooter in unused condition and in original packaging within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.

One of the best features of this retailer is SpinLife University. There you'll find extensive, helpful information about how to choose the right power chair or scooter, important differences between different models, and even interactive images to make it much easier to understand all of the products they sell. If you've still got questions, you'll be able to reach a SpinLife specialist through their toll-free number, online via live chat, or through email.

We really appreciate SpinLife's dedication to individuals with mobility challenges: students who use power or manual wheelchairs and are students of a 4-year university or college can apply for a $1,000 scholarship or a $500 gift card.

SpinLife dropped a half-star in our rankings since our last review. Why? We found a number of complaints that described difficulties in getting scooters serviced after purchase. In all other regards, this store's reputation is intact: an A+ with the Better Business Bureau, a customer-friendly website, and true dedication to people with mobility challenges. But, those customer comments had to be taken into account when determining where to place SpinLife among companies selling mobility scooters.

On the whole, though, SpinLife has an excellent variety of mobility scooters, customer-friendly returns and price matching policy, and a very useful website full of information to help even the most novice shopper. We recommend that you consider SpinLife when deciding which mobility scooter to buy.

Easy Med Online

EASY MED ONLINE Visit Site

Cost:

From $659 to $5,499

Easy Med Online isn't going to impress you with a fancy website: their blog link goes nowhere, and the site itself may not have been updated since it was last copywritten in 2010. Where they definitely will leave a good impression is with what they have to offer.

First, their selection is extensive. In the 4-wheel Mobility Scooters category alone, they carry more than 40 different models from brands like Drive, Golden, and Pride. Unfortunately, you can't sort through all of those options by anything other than name or price, so it'll take some time to browse around to find what you want.

Or, give their toll-free number a call, Monday through Saturday from 9a to 8p Eastern. We were very pleased to get an answer right away (on a Saturday afternoon, no less) from a helpful representative who quickly helped us narrow down the available mobility scooters to a handful of models that would meet our needs: another big plus offered by Easy Med Online.

That's the same number you'd need to call if you want to find out about special offers. Like some of their competitors, Easy Med Online reserves its best prices for people who get in touch with them, either by calling or by providing their email address. We don't like having to take that extra step to get a discount, but it's not uncommon in the mobility scooter industry.

When you do have a scooter in mind, be sure to scroll down to view any available accessories, battery options, and so forth. This is also where you'll select your shipping and delivery options: curbside, standard shipping is free on every mobility scooter, and you can get White Glove Delivery (assembly, set-up, etc.) for an extra charge (usually $150 to $200).

Another impressive perk offered by this store is a 12-month in-home service plan with every mobility scooter. Even if you move, their technician network operates in all 50 states, ensuring that you can get repairs done no matter where you are. Many of the scooters they sell have extended warranties available for purchase beyond that initial year of coverage.

Easy Med Online allows you to return your mobility scooter within 15 days of delivery. It has to be returned in new condition - no scratches or dirty wheels - in its original packaging. You should expect restocking fees up to 25%, depending on the manufacturer.

Finally, this retailer has a solid reputation, with an "A+" rating and accreditation with the Better Business Bureau. We weren't able to find very many customer reviews - positive or negative - outside of the testimonials on the Easy Med Online site, but a retailer that has zero complaints filed with the BBB in the last 3 years is worth looking at.

Once you get past the outdated exterior, you'll find that Easy Med Online is a reputable store for your mobility scooter purchase.

Continued from above

And, of course, you'll need to keep in mind the needs of the person who will be using the mobility scooter; factors like size, ability to use one or both hands, and other personal characteristics can impact which scooters are a good match.

Because so many of the industry's top retailers of mobility scooters have online stores, you can easily find the right one without even leaving home. For people with challenges getting around, this is a huge plus. As you consider which store to use for your scooter investment, here are several factors to bear in mind:

  • Price. What will you spend to buy your scooter from this retailer? Will you pay for shipping/delivery? Are there any discounts available that can make your purchase more affordable?
  • Selection. How many scooters does the company carry? Are they all available, or are there models that are regularly out of stock? Do they have a variety of styles and features to choose from?
  • Policies. Does the retailer offer a satisfaction guarantee, return policy, or warranty coverage? If you get a warranty, will you have to bring the scooter to a repair facility for service, or can they send someone to you?
  • Reputation. What do customers have to say about their experience with the business? Is it rated and/or accredited by the BBB?
  • TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Mobility Scooter stores available today. We hope these reviews help you find the right mobility scooter to maintain your active, healthy lifestyle!
