Finding quality childcare that you can feel confident with can be a stressful and timely process. Many people are now using nanny agencies that instantly minimize the effort and bring you piece of mind. Nanny agencies are able to offer thousands of potential care givers with various backgrounds for you to browse and inspect.
This enables you to find the experience and requirements you're specifically looking for, quickly and with much less effort than if you were screening yourself. Perhaps more importantly, these agencies can also provide the background checks necessary to make sure you are putting an honest and safe individual in your home and with your loved ones.
Care was created in 2006 and holds the largest database of caregivers for all of your child care, tutoring, senior care, pet care, and personal assistant needs. Care surpasses other providers in the number of caregivers available, free background checks, and monthly cost. Care currently holds an A rating at the Better Business Bureau.
Upon arriving at the Care website you'll find an easy-to-use facility with helpful articles and an convenient nanny search tool. Simply type in your zip code and a list of nanny providers will appear. You can further quickly refine your search by selecting from a number of variables to meet your exact needs. We liked that you could fine-tune caregiver skills down to specific behavioral challenges and disabilities to find the very best match for your family.
Unlike other providers, Care offers a free standard background check on all caregivers. This includes verifying the social security number and a search on criminal and sex offender records. You may also pay extra for a wider background search if you feel it's necessary.
At only $35 per month we felt that Care offered an excellent service at a wonderful value. We appreciated the free background check and the large database of potential caregivers. Being able to post a job and freely search candidates proves that Care customizes their business around their customers. If you're looking for a nanny or daycare provider, Care should be your first stop.
Sitter City, in business since 2001, provides care seekers a convenient online tool for locating babysitters, pet sitters, house sitters, dog walkers, elder care providers, and tutors. The availability of providers is wide and Sitter City allows you to try their services free for 7 days. Sitter City is an A+ Better Business Bureau rated company.
The Sitter City website is a bit cluttered but once we gained an understanding we found it very informative and easy to use. Individual hourly prices were listed for each care giver along with detailed information about experience. In the search process you may narrow down care givers by availability, distance, general information, experience, hourly rate, education and more.
Sitter City provides a standard background check on some care givers. If the individual you're interested in does not have a background check available you can pay $9.95 to have this completed. This will involve verifying the social security number, address, and any criminal and sex offender information. Sitter City recommends you check their references, read caregiver reviews, conduct an interview and review available background information.
Sitter City is a strong, well priced choice for your care giver needs. We would have liked to have seen a background check on all providers and additional search options for special needs kids. However, if you're looking for a babysitter or nanny, Sitter City is worth considering.
E Nanny Source started in 2001 and currently holds an A+ Better Business Bureau rating. Their overall provider database is much smaller than those higher ranked.
Upon arriving at E Nanny Source we found the website easy to read, well laid out and informative. Upon our initial nanny searches we found very few providers in those areas and we were unable to narrow down the searches to the level we wanted. On a positive note the search results and profile information were easy to read and one of the best to look at.
E Nanny Source allows you to search for providers for free but if you want to contact them or post a job you must become a member. Member services also allows you to review background information but unfortunately for only 1 individual. We found this a little confusing. What we identified was that E Nanny Source provides available child care providers but also a separate background check business if you want to review someone's history. Those fees range from $19.00 for very basic check to $100 + for one additional detailed background check. We found this to be expensive.
Overall E Nanny Source website was easy to use but did not offer the number of potential care givers of those companies hire ranked and fees can become very expensive if you need more than one background search. We recommend you choose a higher ranked company for a good value and a longer list of candidates to choose from.
Founded in 1987 Nannies 4 Hire has a long history of matching child and elderly care providers and families. Unfortunately, they ask astronomical fees for their services and we couldn't figure out why. Nannies 4 Hire is not a Better Business Bureau accredited company.
Upon arrival to the Nannies 4 Hire website we were able to conduct a search for local and non local providers. Immediately we noticed that the nanny searches we conducted provided fewer results than those companies ranked higher. The results also provided less information about each candidate and only about 50% had pictures available. We also found resource information but felt it was not as plentiful or helpful as some of the higher ranked providers.
Nannies 4 Hire allows you to search their care provider database for hire. Once you are a paying member you will have access to contact information, sample interview questions, advanced search features and more. The service level you choose will determine what you'll receive. For a steep $99 you'll receive unlimited provider resumes and access to post jobs for 30 days. For $129.99 you'll also receive the basic service for 60 days and criminal history on any candidate. The premier package is $199.99 and provides resume access, job postings, comprehensive background checks for 99 days.
Overall, we weren't impressed with Nannies 4 Hire as a result of their overly expensive fees, their search functionality, and the results we found. If you are looking for a nanny we recommend you use a higher ranked company.
