Pet Insurance in Louisiana

Louisiana MapAdvances in veterinary medicine have made it possible to keep furry family members alive and well for much longer, with treatments and procedures that wouldn't have been possible even just a few years ago. However, with these advances have come extremely high veterinary bills, often leaving loving pet owners in the horrible position of having to go into debt to pay for a treatment they can't easily afford, or choosing to have a beloved pet put to sleep instead of getting the care needed to save its life. No one should have to make such a painful decision, and with pet insurance fewer people will need to.

Many companies in Louisiana offer pet insurance to help cover the costs of such treatment. Customers can choose from policies on one end of the spectrum that offer basic coverage in the event of a major illness or accident, and those on the other end that provide extensive coverage of not only catastrophic conditions but also standard preventative care such as vaccinations, annual check-ups, and spaying or neutering. There are affordable plans with a variety of features that will meet the needs of most Louisiana pet owners. Some pet insurance policies do have exclusions for certain breeds - pit bulls and Rottweilers, for example - along with refusing coverage for elderly pets or pre-existing conditions, so customers should be sure to look at the detailed information given for any policy they are considering, to make sure it clearly meets their needs.

With recent studies showing more than 22,000 annual claims for the most common condition affecting dogs (benign skin mass), at a cost of almost $1000, and more than 1,600 for tooth extraction in cats (also at an expense of nearly $1000), pet insurance is definitely worth considering for most Louisiana pet owners.
