If you're in need a new pool liner, cleaners, covers, chemicals, pool toys or any other pool supplies, you already know how limited your options are. Most local stores have a very limited selection of pool supplies in stock. What they do have is usually priced with high markups.

Online swimming pool supply stores, however, can carry a much larger selection of pool supplies than a traditional store. Online stores are available all year round, usually at prices that can't be beat by local swimming pool supply stores. This is because online pool supply stores typically have fewer staff and less overhead - and they usually pass that savings on directly to you, their customer.

One of the first to sell pool supplies online, Specialty Pool Products has built a dedicated pool supply company from the ground up. Since 1994. SPP sells a vast array of anything pool or spa related. From pool equipment, liners, covers, chemicals, alarms, inflatables, and more, Specialty Pool Products has a long list of products to meet your pool needs.

When navigating Specialty Pool Products we found the effort a little more cumbersome than some companies. While it was generally easy to find what we were looking for we found that some results would produce one product and then we'd scroll down to see a long list of additional products differing in size, type, weight, etc and other search efforts would result in multiple listings. While generally easy to find the product we wanted to compare we felt it was a bit awkward to go from picture selection to text selection.

SPP prices on chemicals, liners, and more provided a solid savings opportunity. Many of the products were competitively priced against other companies. We found in nearly every category one product that was priced about 5 -15% less that much of the competition.

Should you not be satisfied with your pool product, SPP will allow for exchanges or returns on any item within 30 days of purchase date. That does not include a list of products such as liners, chemicals, replacement parts and more. Also, SPP may access a 30% restocking fee on some products so make sure you know the specific policy before you buy.

Specialty Pool Products is a strong option for your pool supply needs. While the search effort and return policy require a little more attention you'll be able to find some savings opportunities that can mean big savings over time.

Varies per product, size and address

Pool Center began as a local pool service company in 1988 in the Virginia and Maryland areas before creating an online pool supply store in 1996. Pool Center is proud of their efforts to educate consumers on pool products and allow for open blog forums to share information. Pool Center has a sort of fun yet unprofessional website that might best cater to young children.

Upon arrival to Pool Center we weren't exactly sure if the website was for real. After navigating around we found it offers nice, bright category photos and despite it's elementary appearance it did an ok job of getting us to the product list we wanted. However, the product list left us wanting more. Here the pictures were tiny thumbnail shots along with high level specifics. We appreciated the effort Pool Center put into creating this sort of shopping experience but we didn't find we liked it in the end.

Should you not be completely satisfied with your purchase. Pool Center provides a standard 30 day return policy for most products in new condition, in original packaging with some exclusions. Certain products are excluded from return as is common in pool supply space.

Overall, Pool Center provides a number of pool supply products. The shopping experience is less streamlined than we liked and the appearance was unprofessional at times. If you are looking for an enjoyable shopping experience we suggest you shop a company ranked higher on the list.

While online swimming pool supply stores provide a convenient option for those looking for pool supplies, not all online pool stores are alike. Before making your next pool supplies purchase, consider the following:

  • Selection. You'll want to shop a company that provides a large selection of pool supply products. How vast and diverse is the selection of pool supplies at the company you're considering?
  • Prices. Making sure you don't overspend on your pool supplies is important. How do the prices at each pool supply company compare?
  • Return policy. If you aren't satisfied with the pool supplies once you receive them, are you able to make a return for a full refund? Are there any limitations? has reviewed and ranked the best Pool Supply stores available today. We hope these reviews help you find the pool supplies you need at the price you can afford!
