Best Stretch Mark Products Better Business Bureau Reliability Seal

What are the best options for healing unwanted stretch marks? Although our skin is fairly elastic, there are a myriad of places that stretch marks may appear if the skin is overstretched, causing small tears. For both men and women, this could be on the thighs, stomach, hips, upper arms, breasts, or lower back. Stretch marks take on a streaky appearance and leave lines on the skin that can even appear like claw marks.

Stretch marks arenít necessarily bad. Sometimes there are reasons to be proud of them like pregnancy, growth spurts, or having met a major weight loss goal. However, not everyone feels this way, so thankfully there are products on the market to help fade stretch marks to make them less noticeable. In addition to the cosmetic reasons for using a stretch mark product, many people also experience an itching sensation they want to be relieved of.

Cost:

$59

TopConsumerReviews.com Best-In-Class Blue Ribbon Award StriVectin as a brand has a long list of beauty products, but the one we are focusing on here is the Tightening Body Cream. This product is marketed for individuals with damaged skin due to stretch marks, aging, and free radical damage. It primarily has tightening effects because it is designed to increase elasticity, smooth, and tone the skin.

This product comes in a 6.7 fl. oz. container and customers are instructed to apply the cream to affected areas both morning and night. There is a long list of ingredients in StriVectin, but the key components for skin hydration and tightening are: antioxidants, jojoba, algae extract, shea butter, aloe vera, peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and alpha hydroxy acids.

The cost of one StriVectin Tightening Body Cream tube is $59 if you plan to make a one-time purchase. If you know youíll be using it long-term, the most cost effective option is to subscribe and get each tube for $50.15 instead. Youíll set a delivery schedule and have a new tube shipped to you consistently. This includes free shipping and you are able to cancel your subscription at any time. Some customers report needing to use a lot of the thick cream and this causes it to run out quickly, so subscribing would be a good idea. If you find that your experience with the StriVectin product is unsatisfactory, you can return both new and partially used products within 30 days at no cost.

Based on customer feedback, most agree that the StriVectin Tightening Body Cream produces real results and really does tighten stretched and damaged skin. It can be used almost anywhere on the body and some customers say it works well for tightening skin on their face as well as damaged skin elsewhere. Any complaints we found were the result of transaction or shipping errors, not due to a dislike of the product. The Better Business Bureau gives StriVectin an A+ rating and we do too. This product earns our highest ranking among Stretch Mark products.

Cost:

$33.95/bottle

H-Stretch Marks Formula is a simple, straightforward product made by Healing Natural Oils. It comes in the form of an oil and customers are instructed to massage it onto affected stretch mark areas three times per day. Results are typically seen after 3-6 weeks of use, but this varies by individual.

For a 33 mL bottle (the only size available) of H-Stretch Marks Formula, the cost is $33.95. Customers in the U.S. receive free shipping if they spend at least $49, otherwise the price is $5.95 for First Class shipping. If your product is defective or you are unhappy for any reason, there is a 90-day money-back guarantee in place.

As an all-natural product, there are only six ingredients listed including:

  • Corylus avellana (Hazel) seed oil
  • Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil
  • Rosehip seed oil
  • Lavandula officinalis (Lavender) flower oil
  • Daucus carota sativa (Carrot) seed oil
  • Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) leaf oil

Since pregnant women are most commonly affected by stretch marks, the H-Stretch Marks Formula was specially formulated to be safe for them. It can also be used by children and adults alike. The oil is gentle on skin and does not have reported side-effects.

Customers have reported positive results after having used H-Stretch Marks Formula. Unfiltered reviews on the company website rank the product as a 4.4 out of 5 stars. Most say that after about four weeks of consistent use, their stretch marks begin to fade and the colors begin to lighten. We feel that the H-Stretch Marks Formula is a good option for individuals looking to heal their unwanted stretch marks naturally and affordably.

TriLASTIN-SR

TRILASTIN-SR

Cost:

$59.25

Packaged in a 5.5 fluid oz. tube, TriLASTIN-SR is a paraben-free, unscented, hypoallergenic cream meant to lessen the visibility of stretch marks. Supposedly this works by a Sequenced Diffusion Delivery System (SDDS) that provides a sequences release of active ingredients for stretch mark removal. We arenít exactly sure of the science behind this, but it sounds technical. Overtime, depending on the age of the stretch marks and amount of damaged skin, the healing process is supposed to take place. They state that this can happen in as short as three weeks or as long as 90 days.

For best results, customers are to apply the product 2-3 times per day, but no more than 3 times in a 24 hour period. The treatment area should be washed and dried prior to application each time. The main ingredients in TriLASTIN-SR are a multi-vitamin complex, BeauPlex VH, amino acid rich Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Vitamin E, collagen and elastin. With each application, these ingredients work together to hydrate and plump skin.

We realize that all the marketing statements in the world cannot make a product work if it is not actually effective. Customer feedback is crucial when deciding if a product like TriLASTIN-SR really works or not, and this particular product has very mixed reviews. About half of the customers who reported trying TriLASTIN-SR say it worked great, reduced their stretch marks, and they swear by its effectiveness. Many of them did also say that this only occurred after months of following a strict application regimen. Others say it was a waste of money and had less effect than a store-brand cream for half the price. Obviously this is going to vary by individual based on how old their stretch marks are, how severe they are, and the age of the customer.

The cost of TriLASTIN-SR is $59.25 a tube, so this is a bit expensive for having such mixed reviews. If you are someone who decides to purchase this and decides it was a waste of money, there is a 90-day guarantee on the product where you can return it for a refund after you work through customer service. It may take months before realizing you want to return this cream because it doesnít work for you. To be on the safe side, we suggest going with a higher rated product with more positive customer feedback across the board before using TriLASTIN-SR.

Skinception

SKINCEPTION

Cost:

$69.95/bottle with bulk discounts

Skinception has a professional, scientific website that thoroughly describes the ingredients in this stretch mark cream. Skinception was developed by Dr. Dave David, a Board Certified Gynecologist of over 32 years. Although it doesnít state where Dr. David received his certifications, he has appeared in Time magazine as one of the worldís leading aesthetic surgeons, served as a medical news analyst on NECN, made appearances on CNN and The Fox News Channel, and been a guest on dozens of talk shows. Needless to say, it appears that he has the background to formulate a legitimate medical product.

The makers of Skinception say that the cream reduces the appearance of stretch marks up to 72.5% after 60 days of use. It is marketed for use on breasts, thighs, stomach, buttocks, and upper arms. The cream helps repair skin and prevent future damage by restoring elasticity, evening skin tones, fading discoloration, and boosting collagen production.

Studies were conducted on the four main active ingredients of Skinception including:

  • Regestril: Improves skin discoloration.
  • Darutoside: Helps with tissue restructuring.
  • ProSveltyl: Contains a protein-repair enzyme called Lisoaspartyl. methyltransferase that hydrates and tightens the skin.
  • Pro-Coll-0ne+: Boosts synthesis of collagen.

Studies showed that these ingredients reduced stretch marks and evened skin tones on their own in different ways. There are over 36 ingredients in total that make up Skinception and each one is explained in detail on the website to show why it is included in the product.

You can order Skinception in one-month, three-month, six-month, or twelve-month supplies. A one-month supply is $69.95 and comes in a jar of an unstated size. A three-month supply is $154.95, a six-month supply is $289.95, and the twelve-month supply is $589.00. You receive a bonus gift with the six- or twelve-month supply. Weíre not sure what the gift is, but hey, itís free! There is no charge for shipping unless youíre returning the product. Within 67 days you can return empty bottles for a full refund if you are unsatisfied with your results.

Overall, it seems like Skinception is a scientifically sound stretch mark product that could really work. However, we are hung up on two things. The first is that they claim to be BBB accredited, yet we cannot find them anywhere on the Better Business Bureau site to verify that. They also list that they have 50 reviews rating them 4 out of 5 stars, but you canít view these reviews anywhere to ensure they are legitimate. On the website there are a total of seven filtered reviews rating the Skinception product both 4/5 stars and 5/5 stars. We wish there were more transparent customer feedback available to get a better idea of how well this product generally works for people since it is on the pricier end of the scale. For all of these reasons, Skinception winds up in the middle of the pack when it comes to reputable products for treating Stretch Marks.

MaMa Mio

MAMA MIO

Visit Site

Cost:

$58.00/bottle

Mama Mio comes in a 3.4 fluid oz bottle in the form of a cream. To minimize stretch marks, consumers are instructed to apply a thin layer of the cream over affected areas three times a day. For maximum benefits, it should be used for at least 12 weeks. The bottle even suggests taking before and after pictures of the stretch mark areas when using Mama Mio to see the changes that take place, so they must be fairly confident in their product.

The Mama Mio cream is marketed specifically toward women who are pregnant and nursing. "The pregnancy experts" is proudly proclaimed on the front of the bottle - whatever that means. Not only is Mama Mio supposed to reduce and fade stretch marks, but also relieve the itching associated with them as well. Anti-itch benefits come from the almond oil and omegas found in the product.

As far as ingredients in Mama Mio, they state that a thin layer of the cream is needed because of how concentrated their five ingredients are. However, there are over 40 ingredients listed and it is unclear which five potent ingredients of the 40 they are referring to. Something we do like about this product is that it is free of petrolatum, parabens, synthetic fragrance, colorants, xenoestrogens, PEGs, and phthalates. These seven ingredients have been linked to cancer, hormone disruption, and organ damage, so itís good that pregnant women are able to steer clear of these using Mama Mio.

For $58/bottle, Mama Mio is on the pricier end of stretch mark products. The bottle of cream is fairly small, but hopefully it lasts for most of the suggested 12 weeks if you really only need a thin amount as stated. Shipping is free with purchase, which is nice. However, there is nothing about a guarantee on the product that would make paying the $58 a little more worth it.

A common complaint about Mama Mio from customers is the strong odor. Some describe it as smelling spoiled, while others just generally say it smells bad. In addition, customers report that for the high price they havenít seen better results than they would with a less expensive product. Because of the less-than-desirable customer reviews, we suggest starting out with one of the higher-rated stretch mark creams.

Revitol

REVITOL

Cost:

$59.95/bottle with bulk discounts

When you land on the site for Revitol, you may think you have stumbled upon a frozen infomercial. There are a lot of bright, flashy claims made about the efficacy of this product including its ability to increase your bodyís production of collagen, increase elasticity, and reduce the appearance of existing stretch marks. Customer testimonials give this product a 5/5 rating, but there are only five testimonials total and they appear to be filtered, since you canít go on and leave a review for the product as a customer.

Unless you provide your name, email address, and phone number upfront, you cannot view the pricing for Revitol. This seems like an invasion of privacy that we could do without. Once you give all of the required information, you see that if you buy one bottle of Revitol, it is $59.95. If you bundle with three bottles, it is $119.90, making the bottles $39.97 each. Or you can bundle five bottles for $124.58, making the bottles $24.92 each. Standard shipping is free if you select a bundled package, but costs $6.95 if you buy bottles individually.

Nowhere does it say how big the Revitol bottle is, so you donít really know what youíre getting with your purchase. In the FAQs, someone asked for the recommended dosage and they said you have to receive the product to first know that. Wouldnít that be important to know so you understand how long the bottle will last if youíre spending almost $60 on it? There is technically a 90-day money-back guarantee and option to try the product risk-free advertised on the site, however reading the fine print we found this isnít really the case. In order to return the product for a refund, it has to be unused and unopened. So how would you know if you wanted to send it back if you hadnít actually been able to try it? There is also a $10 restocking fee for items you return, so itís not really 100% refundable.

If youíre going to spend $60 or more on a product you rub on your body, you want to know the company pays attention to details. The grammatical errors throughout the website knocks the professionalism down a notch. Overall, we feel skeptical about this product, mostly due to the presentation of it. There isnít much raw customer feedback to go off of saying that the product is worth the price, so your best bet is to go with one of the higher-ranked stretch mark products weíve reviewed.

Continued from above

Since they are scars, stretch marks cannot be completely erased, but there are many products on the market claiming to drastically fade them. Of course, not all these products are going to work equally, so we are here to help narrow down the best ones.

Before putting your hopes and money into a stretch mark product, we suggest you take the following things into consideration:

  • Cost. Results donít ALWAYS come at a high cost. There are plenty of products out there to satisfy your desire to reduce the appearance of stretch marks without breaking the bank. Make sure that if youíre planning to use a product long-term, there is a sustainable price attached.
  • Effectiveness. Gauging effectiveness can best be done by listening to feedback from other customers who have used the product. If lots of customers claim theyíve seen no results from the product, itís safe to just steer clear.
  • Satisfaction Guarantee. You canít know for sure if a product is going to work on your stretch marks until you try it. Everyoneís body is different, so if you give something a try and find it did nothing, make sure youíre able to return the partially used or unopened product for a refund.
