Clearly authenticity is a priority at The Watchery, as they address the issue in several ways on the main page. They specifically offer a "shop with confidence, 100% guaranteed" policy to put customers at ease.

Categories across a menu bar include men's watches, women's watches, best sellers, diamond watches and a sale/clearance category. On the left hand side there is a menu where you can choose a watch by brand, color, movement type, case size, band color or other criteria, making it very easy to quickly pinpoint the kind of watch you are looking for. There are hundreds of brands and thousands of watches available; the selection seems endless and was quite a bit more extensive than other similar online watch retailers. Each product shows the MSRP price and the discounted price you will pay if your order online from The Watchery.

From our comparison, we found that prices were competitive with other discount online watch retailers. Shipping is free for any order (no minimum purchase) and they offer a 2 day shipping option for $5.00. Additional expedited shipping is available.

All watches from The Watchery come with a warrantee based on the brand of watch. Basically it is just an extension of the warrantee that you would get if you bought from the manufacturer directly. The list of brands is easy to find and you can quickly determine exactly what your warrantee will include.

The return/refund policy is fairly decent. You have 30 days to return any unused, undamaged merchandise as long as the watch is in its original condition and you have the original packaging and documentation. You have to call a customer service representative to get a return number to include, and you must pay for return shipping, but otherwise you can return an unwanted product for any reason.

DISCOUNT WATCH STORE

The Discount Watch Store (or DWS) is an online watch retailer in business since 2002. They advertise authentic watches at guaranteed lowest prices and back that up with an A+ Better Business Bureau rating. They also offer more ways to pay than other similar sites. You can pay with a credit or debit card of course, but there are also links to pay by PayPal, through an Amazon account, or via the Google checkout service. All of this gave us a good, customer friendly first impression.

The website itself is much like other online retail stores. The main page is dominated by "featured brands" and watches, most of which appear to be last minute sales with eye catching discounts. On the left hand side there is a menu where you can choose a watch by brand, gender, or type of watch such as gold, diving, atomic, etc. The variety of brands is large, but not quite as extensive as some of the other watch retailers we have reviewed. Each product shows the suggested retail price and then the discounted price you will pay if your order online from DWS. The checkout system is typical and easy to use and the prices seemed competitive with other discount watch retailers.

Shipping is free for any order with no minimum purchase requirement. They also offer a 2 day shipping option for free for purchases $150 and up. For more expedited options, shipping charges ranges from $5.95 to $19.95.

The return/refund policy is better than some other sites reviewed. Customers have a lengthy 90 days to return any unused merchandise as long as it is undamaged and in its original packaging. All watches come with a warrantee based on the brand of watch. Basically these warrantees are extensions of the what comes from the manufacturer directly. The list of brands is easy to find and you can easily determine the details of your warrantee based on the brand of watch you purchased.
