With a history spanning 60 years and retail stores throughout the US, Canada, and UK, David's Bridal is well-established as a Wedding Dress retailer. Their website is incredibly user-friendly, and makes it easy to find exactly the style, color, and price range you're looking for. Using the options on the left-hand side of the page, you can sort the 1,500 available dresses by designer, such as Vera Wang, Oleg Cassini, and nearly a dozen others; or, by style, price, color, silhouette, length, straps/sleeves, or neckline.
Additional features include the ability to save favorite items to multiple lists - bridesmaids dresses and accessories, flower girl dresses, and so on - to keep track of potential choices while shopping; a budget planner, to keep an eye on expenses; and even the David's Bridal Rewards program, offering discounts and savings of up to $2,000 with DB's national partners, such as $40 off every tuxedo rental from Men's Wearhouse and discounts on wedding rings at Helzberg Diamonds.
David's Bridal has a selection that truly covers every prospective bride. If you're on a budget, David's has 100 dresses under $200. Looking for something elegant and high-end? There are 500 dresses in the $800-and-up range. And, David's Bridal is one of the few retailers in our review that has a wide selection for both petites (women 5'4" and under) and plus sizes, up to 30W.
At the time of our review, shipping was free for all orders of $99 and more; there was also a pop-up for free shipping as well as a contest to win a wedding dress. In general, returns of dresses purchased online are accepted within 14 days of shipping, provided the dress is in original condition. Wedding dresses purchased online may not be returned to any David's Bridal store and can only be returned by mail.
We did find several customer complaints that they received dresses that were stained and that it took some time to have them replaced by customer service, but in general their shoppers are satisfied with their online wedding dress purchase. Because of their incredibly wide selection for brides of all budgets, sizes, and preferences, we recommend David's Bridal as a good place to find a wedding dress.
Dressily Me is based in China and sells occasions wear, such as wedding and prom dresses, along with a selection of jewelry and accessories, lingerie, and swimwear. Their website is full of thousands of dresses in every style and color imaginable, and shoppers can easily narrow down the options using categories like "Luxury Styles" and "Reception Dresses", along with more detailed information like train or sleeve length, waistline, silhouette, and trend collection.
If you're looking to get a wedding dress on a shoestring budget, you'll be impressed by the prices at Dressily Me. Unfortunately, you may be extremely disappointed by what you actually receive. The dresses sold by Dressily Me are copies of those pictured on their website, not originals. For example, the dress labeled as "Stunning Satin A-line Sweetheart Neckline Wedding Dress" was originally the Private Label by G Bridal Gown (Style 1346) and was discontinued in 2013. (You can even see the attempt to remove the watermark from the photo on the Dressily Me site.) While buying it from Dressily Me may save you $800, you can't count on getting a high-quality replica: our research found review after review that complained about dresses that fit horribly (despite having supposedly been made to the customer's specifications), didn't come close to looking like what was pictured, or were made from very cheap materials.
It is understandable that a retailer would not allow for custom-made items to be returned - but Dressily Me customers should be aware that, because nearly every wedding dress sold there is made to order, they will not be able to return their dress if there are issues. We feel that their stated policy on dresses that arrive with glaring measurement differences from what the customer specified - "find a local tailor to make adjustments" and "please kindly forgive" any errors within one inch - can put brides in the difficult position of winding up with a badly-made wedding dress that can't be fixed or returned.
Because of the numerous reviews that describe major problems with the wedding dresses delivered by Dressily Me, we cannot confidently recommend that brides-to-be shop there for their special day. We strongly recommend choosing a retailer that sells dresses that are manufactured by the original designer, not a company that sells knock-off copies at deeply discounted prices.
