Cost:

$49 for Appy Boutique membership

$149 for Appy Luxury membership

Appy Couple calls itself "the most stylish and magical platform for engaged couples to create their own online digital sharing suite". This app gives you a streamlined way to create your wedding website, send out invites via email, and much more: no need to cobble together posts across social networks, DIY websites, and so on when you can have it all in one convenient service.

We suggest you take a look at the Features page on the Appy Couple site. You'll see lots of information about what this wedding planning guide has to offer, including a "no building required" format for creating your ready-to-go wedding website, an amazing app for managing everything (and we do mean everything, from your RSVP's to editing event details) for both you and your invited guests, digital Save the Date and Thank-You capabilities, multiple event privacy (so that you can invite Grandma to the wedding but not the bachelorette party!), and much more.

This service has two paid plans:

  • Appy Boutique - for a one-time fee of $49, you get access to hundreds of designs for your wedding app, wedding website, and digital stationery. You can change your design at any time. You also get plenty of tools for managing your invites and RSVP's, sharing photos with your invited guests, with unlimited access and storage for your guest list entries, photos and messages.
  • Appy Luxury - for a one-time fee of $149, you get the same features as Boutique, but with upgraded designs by celebrity designers like Carolina Herrera and limited edition, one-of-a-kind layouts.

Both packages let you keep your account active for as long as you want it - so whether it's a month after the wedding or well into the future, you'll be able to show off everything you've put together with Appy Couple.

Yes, most of your invitees are online, but what about your friends and family who trend more old school and might need a printed invitation? Certain designs (such as Citrus Press, Real Simple, South City Press) have matching print invites that can be ordered; you'll need to reach out to Appy Couple's customer service team to get a quote and a timeline.

You can even give Appy Couple as a gift to your favorite engaged pair. Email their Orders department and they'll give you a digital gift card to give.

Couples who have used Appy Couple - especially those who are very particular about their wedding website's design options - absolutely love this wedding planning resource. We found lots of compliments describing how easy it is to use, how much their guests enjoyed using the app and being kept up to date on all of the pre-wedding events, as well as how responsive the Appy Couple team is when any snags or questions have come up.

So, with all of these fantastic features and capabilities, what's stopping Appy Couple from getting our highest rating? Compared with the other services with higher rankings, this wedding planning guide is missing a few features: gift registries and actual planning checklists were the first two to stand out as we evaluated this service.

But, if those two things aren't high on your priority list, and what you really want is a gorgeous wedding website builder with cutting-edge tools for managing your guest list/RSVP's and much more, you may want Appy Couple at the top of your list.

You can also get inspiration and advice from real couples. Thinking of having a wedding in the woods during winter? Check out what other brides and/or grooms did - and maybe even get practical tips for staying warm and keeping everyone from getting wet! Not sure how to navigate tricky family dynamics, which friends to invite to be in the wedding party, or how to word an invitation that includes everyone? Most of these wedding planning guides have in-depth advice and answers to guide you.

You've got a lot on your mind already, so how can you tell which online wedding planning guide is the right fit for you and your significant other? Here are several factors to keep in mind as you consider what's available:

  • Cost. Most online wedding planning guides don't charge to use the service. If you're interested in a paid planning tool, will you get enough value out of what you pay to make it a better choice than a free option?
  • Services Offered. What kind of help or advice are you looking for? Do you need an all-in-one site that gives you access to an app, checklists, plus ideas and inspiration for everything from flowers to food? Or maybe you're just at the beginning stages of planning and want to know if there are any available venues in your area? Choose a wedding planning guide that fits your needs.
  • Inclusivity. If you're planning a non-traditional wedding, can you find resources on the site? Are there couples and stories that you can identify with that are featured in the photos and articles?
  • Use of Technology. With so much of today's world online, it makes sense that more couples are taking advantage of fully-featured tech tools to streamline their wedding planning. Are you interested in having an app that you (as well as friends and family) can use to update RSVP's, list and/or buy items on a gift registry, and more? Not every wedding planning guide offers that capability.
