Whether you're a happy couple trying to make it a little easier to get from "Yes, I'll marry you!" to "I do!" or you're a professional wedding planner who needs to keep track of your Cinderellas and Bridezillas alike, using Wedding Planning Software could make a huge difference.

Free 14-day trial

Monthly subscriptions start at $19

WedPlanner Pro got its start in 2013 with the mindset of giving wedding planners (and really meticulous couples) a platform to stay extremely organized when planning a couple's big day.

Tools offered within this wedding planning software include:

  • Organizing clients
  • Budget planner
  • Timelines: for each vendor and a master copy for the organizer
  • Vendor cards
  • File attachments
  • Collaboration options for working with clients/couples
  • Integration with FreshBooks

Interested users can get a free 14-day trial at no risk. Plans can be upgraded, downgraded or cancelled at any time. After the free trial, membership plans include a $19/month option for managing up to 3 weddings at once, $29/month for up to 8 weddings at a time, and $59/month for managing an unlimited number of weddings.

How many wedding professionals or couples are using WedPlanner Pro? That's a great question. The siteĎs URL isn't secure, the page's copyright was 2 years old at the time of our review, and the only way to contact the company is through an online form. And, because WedPlanner Pro's developers are based out of South Africa, there's no way to check their reputation with the Better Business Bureau.

It gets even better: checking out their blog, you'll see the reason for all of those issues we mentioned. As it happens, WedPlanner Pro announced their official retirement as 31 December 2019.

So, great platform? Maybe. But unless you got in on it when it launched, it's probably not going to do you any good now. You'll have to choose another option for your wedding planning software needs.

Monthly subscriptions start at $9.99

BrideVue is suitable for couples, wedding planners, and vendors who want to be able to picture all the details of the big day in 3D. What would the reception look like with the taupe tablecloths? How are the tables arranged in the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club or the Dearborn Inn Marriott? This unique platform provides you with a true-to-form visualization of your entire event.

The site offers a "free trial", which is really more of a demo of how the service works. The good news is, you don't need to sign up or provide any information to give it a try. It didn't really give us much to work with: we could change the color of the chairs and look around the sample reception room, but not much else.

We clicked on the Vendors tab in the demo and entered our state, which gave us a referral for an interior designer located several hundred miles away from our location. The text was hard to read, and links to the vendor website didn't go anywhere.

Pricing on BrideVue is straightforward:

  • 1-month subscription: $9.99
  • 3-month subscription: $12.99
  • 6-month subscription: $16.99
  • 1-year subscription: $19.99

Payment only goes through PayPal, which could eliminate some prospective clients who prefer other platforms like Venmo or who want to pay directly with a credit card.

Our general impression using the BrideVue service left us wondering if anyone is really using this service: the website copyright was over a year old at the time of our visit, the blog consisted of a single post, and user reviews were almost non-existent. The only ones we could find were for an iOs app by the same name - with user comments saying that the app had stopped working, or that they used the free version but weren't ever able to upgrade to the paid service.

Want to be even more confused? Try clicking on the Consultations tab. From what we could see, it's a feature that should let subscribers connect with professionals who can help with wedding planning - but BrideVue never moved it out of testing mode (and didn't hide the feature until it was actually finished!).

BrideVue is a service with a lot of potential - but it's hard to tell if it's still being developed or if it's been abandoned altogether. As far as Wedding Planning Software goes, this is definitely not one of our favorites.

How about music? If it's a destination wedding, what travel and accommodation arrangements need to be reserved, and how far in advance? It's easy to see how overwhelming it could be to track those kinds of details for one couple - how much more so when you've got several weddings to plan at the same time!

While there are a number of Wedding Planning Guides and Wedding Website Builders that couples can use to try and manage on their own, most of them don't offer the extensive features found in many Wedding Planning Software packages - which are tailored towards planners who need a higher level of organization. Think of it as project management software for the wedding planning professional!

When looking at the options available to you today, how can you tell which program is right for your needs? Keep in mind these criteria as you make your decision:

  • Scope. Whether you're just getting started or you've been planning weddings for years, you need wedding planning software that fits your business. Does the software cover everything you typically have to manage?
  • Cost. How much will you pay to use the platform? Is it worth the investment to get the features it provides? Will you have to pay annually, or can you go month-to-month?
  • Reputation. Anyone can throw together a piece of software and start to sell it online. Does the wedding planning program have a proven history of helping couples and/or professionals to organize their events efficiently and easily? has reviewed and ranked the best wedding planning software available today. We hope this information helps you find the right tool for your "I Do's"!
