Supply chain management is simply getting a product from point A to point B. One way to do this is through dropshipping. With dropshipping, retailers (you) do not have to keep any inventory on hand. Rather, you send customer orders to wholesaler suppliers. The supplier ships the items directly to your customer. You never have to touch the product, and you make a profit on the difference between the wholesale and retail prices.

Wholesale2B has a million products on offer with automation of product uploads, inventory synchronization, and fulfillment of orders. You can hook it up to your website, eBay, Amazon, Shopify, BigCommerce, ECWID, or WooCommerce. There's also a data feed option in case you have a need to use a third-party commerce engine that Wholesale2B doesn't support directly.

You can sign up for free to browse all the dropship products until you're ready to activate a plan and start selling. When we signed up for the free account, the confirmation email contained the password we selected, which is a bit of a security concern.

For pricing, we found the Wholesale2B pricing plans a bit confusing at first, especially from the perspective of someone who has never done drop shipping and is looking to get their feet wet. To see the particulars of any plan, you need to first sign up for the free account and then click into each plan's page to review everything it includes and how to use it.

Here are some of the prices we found:

  • Dropship on Amazon - $37.99/mo ($287.00/year)
  • Dropship Website - $39.99/mo ($299.99/year)
  • Dropship Datafeed - $24.99/mo ($149.99/year)
  • All eBay, Amazon, Website, and Datafeed plans together discounted to $82.99/mo ($599.99/year)
  • Dropship for Shopify App - $29.99/mo (no yearly plan)
  • Dropship for BigCommerce App - $29.99/mo ($215.99/year)
  • Dropship for ECWID App - $29.99/mo ($215.99/year)
  • Dropship for WooCommerce - $29.99/mo ($215.99/year)
  • DIY Plan - $67/year

The site presumes a prior knowledge of how dropshipping works and assumes that the customer will know which platform they're going to use and how to operate it so as to know which exact plan to buy.

Also, the fact that everything is parceled out into so many plans instead of all-inclusive like their competitors makes it hard for experienced retailers to operate on disparate platforms without overpaying. Some retailers may find this a la carte approach more useful than others.

The sample product directory showed very few name brands but quite a lot of off-brand products mixed together. If you're searching for a niche in which to sell the higher-quality off-brand products, this appears to be a good supplier directory for that purpose.

On the Better Business Bureau website, Wholesale2B got a dismal C- non-accredited rating with 5 total customer complaints. Wholesale2B attempted to answer some of the complaints but the customers responded with notes saying they were still dissatisfied with the attempted resolution.

Wholesale2B looked okay at first glance, but their complex and disjointed plans coupled with the concerning reviews we saw at the Better Business Bureau website caused us to rank this service low.

Whether you are a retail merchant looking to sell the products of other wholesalers, or if you are a wholesaler looking to offer dropshipping for other retailers, DropShip Direct claims to help you do both. They also note that there are no fees to join.

However, upon attempting to sign up for DropShip Direct to research for this review, we found a major obstacle. The signup form is very difficult to find. When clicking the "Sign Me Up" button, a login form appeared. To find the signup form, you have to click an obscure button on the login form. The login form itself seemed untrustworthy because it belonged not to DropShip Direct, but to a third-party online form management service.

The signup form asks only for name, email and password and then asks you to accept the third-party login service's terms of service and privacy policy rather than that of DropShip Direct. Then you get a confirmation email with an activation link, but the activation link logs you into the third-party service and not into DropShip Direct.

This doesn't seem very "direct" anymore.

Browsing around the site, under the "Latest News" section in the footer, we found that the news hadn't been updated since September 2017. This is also not a good sign that the site is fully functional or cared for.

While we wanted to like DropShip Direct for its modern-looking website (at first glance, anyway) and lofty promises, we give it our lowest marks for not providing a viable signup process. There may be some other way into the system, but so far it eludes us. It seems that either the company is no longer in business or it has not paid much attention to the most critical functionality of the website. All we ended up, for our troubles, was an account on a third-party form builder service that has nothing to do with drop shipping.

There are numerous benefits of dropshipping. As a dropshipping retailer, you do not have to buy and stock inventory before making a sale. The advantage is that you don't need to provide for storage space. You are not left trying to get rid of items that are not selling well, or at all.

If you want to reduce the number of employees needed to run your retail business, just become a dropshipper! Regardless of how many products you sell, you don't have to hire employees to package and ship items. Because inventory management is handled by the supplier and/or dropshipping enablement company, you also don't have to hire employees to maintain inventory.

To succeed as a wholesale dropshipper, you should use a dropshipping service that prequalifies reputable manufacturers and wholesalers. Also, you should match your business goals properly with the products the dropshipping company offers.

Here are some important factors to look for when looking at different dropshipping services:

  • Products. Does the company offer a wide selection of merchandise from reputable manufacturers? Can you browse their products before agreeing to use their service?
  • Value. Does the company charge a reasonable fee for the services they offer?
  • Ease of Use. Is the website clear and easy to navigate?
